had a lambretta 125.....1959, headlamp mounted in middle of fairng undreneath Bars............. anyone remember them? it was 1968 and I was 16 years old , cost me ?10. Passed my test at the ripe old age of 37 in 1989 on a 125. Bought a Yama XS 500 and rode it for 4 years... 6 days a week to work. Gave up after watching a motor cycle accident. Bought a Harley...I Know..... I know, as a business opportunity, pile of shit, bought a bird at the age of 52 and lovin it.

53 next week, just as stoopid as I was at 16 :bang: :bang: :bang:

Rock on Honda CD175's.............especially blue ones.

Past my test on a blue CD175 in 1973 at the second attempt.

Blew the first one...... on my way to the test centre (in Reading) I stopped to fill up with petrol. Noticed in a panic that the rear L plate had fallen off. Couldn't believe it - the first time it had ever happened to me.
Anyway bought a new set at the garage and set about fitting the rear one, without anything particularly suitable to attach it with.
Got it done but now bloody tight to make the test appointment.
Continued making "rapid progress" with little regard to much else.
At this point I was getting concerned as I'd not actually gone to see the test centre before - only checked on a map where it was.

Spotted the name plate for the test centre road with minutes to spare. Hung a quick left and a swift right into the car park and breathed a sigh of releif.

Went and sorted out and waited for the examiner.
He introduced himself and asked "is that your blue Honda in the car park", yes I replied. "Do you realise you've just come the wrong way done a one way street" says he - "oh feck" says I. Did the test but I think it had to be a forgone conclusion.

Anyway, re-applied straight away and past second time around three weeks later.

first license

My first license in 1966, on a Honda 305 Scrambler, I think it was a 64, where I lived you didnt need a license for a moto until then.
First bike 1948 Indian Scout, painted blue with a brush, most parts missing
but it ran, kinda!
