Don't get pissed off Bubba.
Of course there are more important issues than fox hunting. People in this country are not more concerned with fox hunting than wars and disasters.
Iraq or any other issue has nothing to do with this thread of fox hunting.
Cruelty is only perceived by humans. Any predetory animal will kill prey. Be it one on one or groups onto one. The point is that humans should not endeavour to carry out acts of cruelty. Millions of animals are killed all over the world by other animals. In my opinion Man should not be killing animals for sport.
What's wrong with drag hunting?
Farmers with guns who cannot shoot for toffee should not have guns. If they "need" a gun, they should get training and have to be up to a standard. I am a bit worried now. Next time I'm out with the dog and hear a farmer shooting, he might be one who can't shoot for toffee and hit me. Or anybody else. Mmm.
Poisoning is indescriminate, wrong and illegal. Rats in domestic and commercial situations excepted. Rats pose a real health danger.
I personally see nothing wrong with shooting pheasant or deer if you are going to eat them. I don't think they should be killed for sport.
I am sure your uncle who is a game keeper is not a cruel man. He will raise pheasant chicks etc just to be shot. I personally don't have a problem with that if the pheasants are eaten but if the shot birds are just dumped then I believe that is wrong.
As with any husbanded animals, if they are treated well, respected and have a "decent" life before they are killed for eating, that is not a problem for me.
To kill for the sake of killing i.e. sport is a different matter.
Debate is healthy. I am sure we all have some definite black and white areas and likewise many shades of grey. Debate will very often move the grey around and sometimes may just alter the black and white.
Don't get pissed off Bubba. Get pissed.
