Serviced a rather posh mountain bike ( proly aint seen a spanner since new ) .. Did it in exchange for the owner prepping and painting the gutter boards at the back of the house
and took all the rose joints off the steering of one of the Mobi scoots as some were partially seized making steering 'interesting' !

I didn’t think they had steering - Just bounced off random objects as they went down the road like a pinball :)

I’ve just spent a very fruitless hour on the phone to Asda.

We have a recurring delivery slot for 1pm Thursday every week as we have a ‘delivery pass’ due to shielding from Covid

I went to place this week’s order to find out it had expired, this is despite an email got yesterday saying to place the order by 12am Tuesday.

first call lasted 10 minutes waiting, waiting, waiting until I got to speak with someone who decided to hang up on me.
Second call lasted a bit longer, again I was speaking to someone who’s 3rd language is English - and hung up on me.
Third call - I managed to get a pukka, born here, educated here, Englishman.

very sorry, but it expired because I didn’t place the order soon enough. Wtf! Apparently it’s my fault I didn’t place an order days ago. And how am I supposed to know what I want until it’s time I want it?

I’ve got a £8 voucher now to appease me. Like fuck it does, wait till tomorrow when I can get further up the food chain.

Don't know if it the same as ours....We haven't got a recurring order but lose a booked slot within a few hours of booking if we don't put £40 of stuff in the basket. Default position is four bottles on Metaxa which get removed when we do the 'proper' order.

Nipped out to change the clutch cable on the lawnmower...four and an effing half hours later I finally got the business end installed, Easy end left for tomorrow as I was pretty fed up.

Typical twenty first century engineering..everything designed to be put together quickly (cheaply) with little thought on dismantling/repairing. To get easy access to connect the cable at the clutch end I reckon it would have been engine, rear axle and clutch out. All for a bloody clutch cable. I eventually took a hammer and chisel to one of those stupid expanding pop through fittings on the Bowden cable and hoped I wouldn't break the mounting that would have probably meant writing the mower off. Happily I got away with it.

And it started raining so I had to merge everything into the shed.

And breath.....

Chilli con carne followed by fresh pineapple and an excellent vanilla ice cream for dinner.

Shooting this morning & I couldn't hit a thing with any regularity for some reason, even accounting for a bit of wind i'm pretty disgusted with myself, on the other hand the little un only missed 4 shots out of 40 odd on the 10 yard range  little sod :D

Finished installing the clutch cable on the mower, 4.5 hours yesterday so nice to finish in twenty minutes.

Only downside is that the air filter was soaked with oil as a result of having the Briggs and Stratton upside down. Smoked like a diesel when I eventually got it started.

Chucked the paper filter away and replaced temporarily with a bit of foam, ran sweet as a nut.

Service kit ordered.

Briggs and Stratton engines are brilliant(y)
