Starting Problem

Hey Bill

I was far too hopeful with your Volvo. :xmc7u8

On the way to my mate's garage the volvo went 3/4 up in temperature, stopped and let it cool down, then downhill to his garage no problem....I was so careful with the temperature. Also, I was only going very steady.

Tasos showed me the evidence of the oil in the water too.......

HE

Do tell! :-0)

got a sample out of the expansion box then he bl4hbl4h

separated the oil out on a steel plate and set fire to it, easily (simple test but effective) bl4hbl4h

he then explained that scum, shit, rust ect would not ignite.

That's it, Petros?

I was expecting something technical like checking the compression. The jury is still out! 8rfl@

I hope the Volvo dealer does some more technical tests, Petros. But there again, changing a head gasket is a nice juicy bit of business! 8rfl@

Shouldn't take the new coolant too long to start a fight with the oil :-0)

You know, I'm glad I bothered now.

Just came back

And the results were? :-0)

The mate (main mechanic that I know fairly well) was out on an emergency call, when they phoned him he asked me to wait but he was going to be a couple of hours....I could not wait.

After I explained what happened to the other super mechanic (he did the cam belt for me before) he said that there are more than one possibilities, the main ones a) Head gasket b) oil radiator c) Thermostat....and so on.
They will investigate and phone me of course either this afternoon or on Monday......so I have to wait a little longer....gr0n:

No, no. No chance of any spring heading skywards. Mine did that cos I fekked about trying to dismantle it to see what's inside. Straight swap, which is what you're doing is pretty east. Just take ya fekkin time....and for FOOKS SAKES stop padding out this twatting thread with shite about ya car. I don't wanna know thank you.

Now get on with it. I look forward to the outcome....p0pc0rn41

Sooooooooooooooooo

That everyone knows as well as TT

The new switch gear arrived, just got the time to spend in my garage, replaced the original, and presto........SAME FOOKING PROBLEM

b0x1d04l1ngc7u8

So swapped the switch gear again (me thinking I might have not changed it at all and I installed the one that I just took off the bike) but, no luck.

It turns out that the original gear was ok......but.....what the hell is wrong with the bike......the saga continues ..........................:bang:
