Ahhhhh.
You have an alarm fitted.
I think I can sort your problem.

Remove the alarm completely from the bike and throw the feckin thing in the bin..........

............the alarm that is, not the bike:-0)

I can do it Caspar.

It's Petros who has the problem!
Anyway we are pleased to announce we have finally tracked down the fault.
The yellow/red wire which goes from the plug under the dash and is supposed to take 12 volts to the solenoid when you press the starter button is fucked. See diagram on post#71. Fucked is a technical term some of you may not have heard of! After having shown great patience with me over several days on Skype and ruling out several red herrings Petros has proved the case by bypassing this wire. Hoo fucking ray! 8rfl@ Next job is to make the bypass permanent and then we shall remove the alarm by Skype. The wifi signal in the garage is so poor I thought Petros was an alien until he Skyped me from his living room. 8rfl@

Petros for a mechanical engineer you make a damn fine electrician.

I must say, I am so relieved the bike has been sorted. Press the start button and there it goes, just like it used to be.:-:

Let me explain about the house and the garage..Signal problem....When we had it built, there was 28 tons of steel gone into it for re-enforcement. This is so the house will withstand up to 9 on the Richter scale of earthquake vibrations. So, as you can imagine there is not much of a signal traveling around the house or basement/garage.

Finally, I know that the whole thing has not finished yet but I must say, Bill has been wonderful. A man with limitless patience and perseverance with a fantastic knowledge of what the fuck goes on with electrics (thank god)@tu*
Thank you very much Bill for taking the time to sort me and the BB out.

MAN on the PAN
Perhaps a wifi booster plugged into a socket nr the bike would be good investment

Aha but

A process of elimination.:-0)

Nevertheless, thanks very much for sticking with it Bill. I was lost from the beginning and that is why I asked for help in the first place.

I would have been nowhere without your expert advice.....

Now then, what is this about a wifi booster? Would it do the job down there in the garage? Wouldn't the booster have the same problem of receiving signal in the first place? Would it interfere with the wine? hahaha
