Starting Problem

VOLVO S60 D5 2003

They rang me this morning to tell me that the block has been sent for a pressure test and to see if it has warped? Anybody knows anything about it?

They said that it might need skimming? The head gasket looks ok...

I wonder! :bang:

A wifi booster.

Nevertheless, thanks very much for sticking with it Bill. I was lost from the beginning and that is why I asked for help in the first place.

I would have been nowhere without your expert advice.....

Now then, what is this about a wifi booster? Would it do the job down there in the garage? Wouldn't the booster have the same problem of receiving signal in the first place? Would it interfere with the wine? hahaha

This uses the mains electricity circuit as wiring to transmit the signal in another room. The main unit is plugged into a mains socket and connected by cable to your router. The other unit(s) is/are plugged into other sockets in different rooms and send out the wifi signal from there. The mains sockets must be on the same loop so if a garage for example is on a different loop to the room with the router it may not work. Being cautious with the "may not" as I think it almost certainly won't! 8rfl@ There are also extenders where you plug the device into a socket halfway between the router and the area with the poor signal and use WPA to connect. This then extends the area covered.

OK

The house and the garage are on separate boards so, I am almost certain that they are on a different loop.

I might need this extender though because I need a good signal at the pool house.

What I have at the moment is an amplified antenna which is by the router and pointing to wards the swimming pool which gives me 2/3 bars of signal (not very good really). Is it called a wifi extender and thats it?brok3

I never thought that you couldn't disconnect the alarm Centaur, I was trying not to be able to do it myself.h1d1ng2:-0)

Out of interest, did you bypass where the alarm would have been spliced into the starter circuit to inhibit starting?

So, we can conclude that the bike starts on the button, you are now able to ride it again and that when John or a Bill are away we can call on your gained intimate knowledge of the wiring foibles of the 'bird.

It pushes the signal further....hopefully.

I'll give you a call on Skype tomorrow.

I've just seen your post on going out today. Brilliant. I assume you have permanently by-passed yellow/red! @tu*

Hi Lads

g0551pJust to report and recommend.

Report: My bike, touch wood, is running fine and I have enjoyed ridding it this past week or so. The mod that took place on the harness following the CENTAUR brill idea, was very inexpensive, quick and spot on.

Recommending: offshore_motor_cycleparts for crash helmets and crash helmet accessories, they are very friendly, helpful and look what they did

I wanted a top pad for my AGV V-FLYER which was marked with the size ML.

Dear petrosc7,

""I am sending an extra top pad of a different size just incase the other one does not fit. No need for extra payment or return if one does not fit properly. We have lots of the larger size in stock as they are a clearance item.

Kind regards,

Offshore Motorcycle Parts""

They are on e-bay

Glad you're sorted, Bozziain.

Petros went through everything with his problem but he finally tracked it down to the wire from the starter button plug/socket to the solenoid. @tu*
