Got the reservior kits today and began bolting the brake M/C and res kit in place. I also attached my brake lines to the M/C end to make sure they were long enough. Here was were i had a bit of a problem. With 3 washers in place (one each end and 1 in between the 2 lines) the banjo bolt bottomed out before it tightened the lines up. I have placed 3 washers under the 2 lines as this seems to alow the banjo connectors to sit in the right place and also tighten up, has anyone else come accross this? I used the Brembo bolt which came with the res and Venhill lines.

Here are a couple of pics of the M/C and res kit fitted.

Yes Rick, came across it a few times, You really need a new bolt but I took the end of one on my trackbike to make it fit with no probs.

loving the new Brembos but I would go with a pair of the race remote res's instead of the large ones....
like these on my mates trackbike...

Do you know where they are from? Do the brackets come with them. Mine are the Brembo kits they recommend but I love the look of those and my clutch one is that size.

I have now decided that i am going to use the small reservoirs for Brake and clutch and will fabricate some brackets to hold them in place like they are shown in the pic here.

For anyone still following this, here is the latest effort. Some aluminium flat sheet cut down and fitted to support the reservoirs. I put a longer bolt throgh the clip on and secured the brackets with a nut at the rear. It seems to work fine and looks a lot better than the Brembo brackets in my opinion.

I've took some better quality pics of the reservoir set up now. Next weekend there WILL be some of the calipers fitted.

Enjoying your work Rick, keep it coming! Just about finished delinking mine tonight, not quite as bling as your setup though

I prefer functional to bling ;-0))

I'm glad that someone is still watching! I must say that the whole project has been a learning curve for me and i have had a lot of help from some others who have caried out similar mods. I hope that if some others fancy taking the same route with any of this i can help them out too.

Curiosity Rick, whats the bars look like with the original black rubber grips on ?? just thinking aloud like ;-0))

It was fitted with horrible hard thick black heated grips when I bought it. These sticky renthals give great feel. They may not look great but I don't care about that. I have never seen it with standard grips so sorry I can't answer that.

Right... the brackets have arrived and i have quickly bolted them on. They still need to be fitted properly but i wanted to make sure it all fitted together. I had to do a little modifying to get it together but i thought i would show how she looks now. Please excuse the discs as it is a little damp in the garage and she has been sat a while. I'm sure she'll clean up fine once i've got it all sorted.

Excellent write up with some good photos.

I upgraded my Thunderace brakes from the original blue spots with steel pistons
to the later gold spots which have alloy coated pistons and fitted SBS street pads.

The gold spot caliper pistons slide with far less effort than the original blues which means that
there is less 'drag' from the pads plus I can feal the second piston bite the disc when it comes in.

Not yet. I've got a new C&S to fit plus all the plastics to refit. I think I'm looking to tax it from 1st March. Then I'll report back. Should have some fully finished pics then too.
