Good evening all

well I had my 3 monthly review last week and blood tests

PSA dropped from 5.75 to 1.61 .... great result !!
The consultant is very happy with my progress and I will be tested 3 monthly until readings are negligible

yes I do have some side effects !!
BUT these will be medicated until they stop being an issue OR they sort themselves out OR I may have to live with some for the rest of my life !!
Which will be much longer since I had brachytherapy !! And I was very lucky to have my symptoms spotted so early ..... it could have been far worse !!

Feeling much more positive now (was quite low for a while both physically and mentally !!)
and it’s great news to get just before Christmas !!

So guys ..... if you haven’t been tested and you are a certain age ! Get yourself a PSA test at the doctors !! It MAY save your life !!

Merry Christmas everyone and let us all live a long, happy and healthy life (y)

Well, did any of the nurses have big tits or what?

Aside from that, great news that you’re sorted. Have a great Christmas!

not quite sorted ..... just the first step on a long journey (several years of quarterly tests)

the nurse who removed the catheter was quite well built .... but I wasn’t in any condition to raise a gallop!
The nurse with a Geiger counter (YES really ! ) seemed very friendly too !

Better place now Andy - home and enjoying being with my first grandchild on her first Christmas
Brilliant.

Our second grandson arrived last week and he had a bit of a scare over the weekend that meant he was hospitalised.

All good now, best Christmas present ever(y)

Oh ok, I didn’t realise there was that far to go. Well, I hope you continue to progress in the right direction and the nurses have big tits (y)

Evening all

a little update …
PSA test last week after the previous one had jumped over 1
The results came back and my level is 0.83 …. Happy days !!
Apparently 18 months after an Operation there is a ‘bounce’ and my last high PSA seemed to be on time and expected by the nurse !

IF you guys haven’t had a PSA test recently and your over 50 …. I advise you to get it done !
If the doc hadn’t been testing me regularly I would never had known I had cancer (NOTICE I said HAD ?) I won’t actually be clear for 5 years after my brachytherapy operation ….but I reckon it was caught in time !!!

Good to hear that you’re more or less sorted, Darren. Most excellent news (y)

I’d be a bit reluctant to get tested. I’m no doctor but I’ve heard that the test is best described as ‘not very reliable’ from too many with cancer being missed and those in the clear being flagged as positive. Obviously, it has saved a lot of lives but, if I’ve been informed correctly, it’s also caused a number of needless problems.

If anyone can shed some light on this or clear things up a little, I’d be most grateful.
