Not a bad list of work for 11 bikes
I know someone on here who has similar views, chopped his for a GS and was as happy as a beach bully.....................Triumph Explorer 1200 - pile of sh*t, wish I’d never gone there
Tell me more!Triumph Grand Prix, with the Lancaster bomber generator engine - now worth mega money

Were all these dragsters (apart from the goalkeeper)?2008 hayabusa
Another Busa to replace the 2nd I wrote off racing, rebuilt it then I had 2 at once, turboed one of them. WOW!
2008 Hayabusa

Kawasaki.
The Triumph Grand Prix was a late 40s rigid 500, the motor was straight in, straight out ports and not splayed as you normally get, along with almost square barrels. I chopped it and sold it on - what a disgrace.Tell me more!

Well: it's a glorious list that you provided to itemise a glorious hobby (some would say "it's more than a hobby, it's something that I love"), thanks for sharing, fella. Not quite, although I feel it some days, just a 57 year old that's always been obsessed with bikes & gets bored easily, the longest I have owned one bike is 14 years (GS1000s) still regret selling that, the next longest was one of the RF900's a much under rated bike that lasted 3 years, most of the others didn't last a year before moving on
And i'm not the worst I know, a mate of mine is 66 (I think) he owns a bike for every year he's been alive + a couple of spares & that's after spending the last 2 years reducing the collection
It was the reference to the Lancaster bomber generator engine that caught my eye, though. The Triumph Grand Prix was a late 40s rigid 500, the motor was straight in, straight out ports and not splayed as you normally get, along with almost square barrels. I chopped it and sold it on - what a disgrace.
Whadja reckon it'd be worth now? Much?I sold it for £40 to pay my fines.
Awesome stuff! Have you got a roomful of trophies - or just a pile of old bandages that yer can't bring yerself ter throw away?I raced a 99 Busa with minor tune to 201mph and then progressively nitroused it, then 1400 and then nitroused that to a best of 213.3mph until,I melted the engine for the 3rd time. Sold it and got my first k8 which I promptly crashed and wrote off. Rebuilt it and then turboed it, a full monty rebuild, carillo rods, wostner pistons, ported, cammed, valves & springs, 330+ on super unleaded, and on full boost, 2 bar, on race fuel 525bhp - still a road bike as well. Geared for 245 @ 10k rpm.
I really enjoyed my 2 years on a ZZR1400, and Mrs DA loved the bike, but I had to have the suspension re-vamped because the front end felt way too mushy for my liking. I'd have kept it, but the rust started showing up after the second winter and I realised that the build quality was far below that which I'd become used to.The Gen2 ZZR is everything the Blackbird and Busa should have been with further development - 1442cc, ABS, TC, amazing brakes, great suspension, capable of high speed long distance cruising, handled 2 up with great ease and wasnt cramped. A true Grand Tourer in the truest sense of the word. The new ZX10 with hairdryer attachment(h2sx) is far too small for normal sized bikers
Why's that "boring"?I’ve had quite a boring bike history
