First Bird in 2006... Candy blue 2000 injection bought from a really nice bloke in London... Sold it due to divorce in 2009.

Second Bird another blue one but a 1999 model. Got it from a bloke in South Wales. He "really looked after my bikes".....clearly not as I found out on the ride home... Tyres like Toblerone and brakes pads thinner than a witches tit. Never really liked that one and had loads of trouble with it...leaking forks... Oil cooler pipes split usual electrical problems etc etc

2015 I then saw a 2006 two tone grey one in a dealers.....went to look with a view to trading the other one in. Got offered a great deal as it was the week before xmas. Rode it home that day and the difference was amazing. Turns out it belonged to someone from work who had swapped it for a VFR 1200.

He had done loads to it...rear spacer Jaws front springs and risers...the list goes on. Still got that and really right now don't see me changing it for anything else.

You and Nige F seem to have had a preference for Blue. My initial preference was Red. Used to be some outrageous banter on here in the old days about which was "faster". Thanks fer bringin' back a few memories, pal!
:D

Any comment on colour, Beaker? Don't worry; no need ter be politically correct, lad, so ledder rip!! :risas3:

Lowered suspension tuned by jaws
Custom seat by Digger

Hydraulic rear brake light
Was running HID headlights but was advised at the last MOT that they are now illegal on motorcycles.... so have reverted to std for upcoming MOT.

Carb one was black underneath the dirt. Got washed once a year or every fifteen thousand miles, whichever cam efirsr, whether it needed it or not.

FI was Candy Tahitian Blue under the dirt .wuite a nice colour that.

Main colour I remember Is the colour of the boxes that the reg/recs and generators came in, and the colour of the Mercedes that @Jaws bought from my purchases.

Cheers, fella! (y)

We do (did) an awful lot of touring before CV-19 and I was always happy with the linked setup. I used to do trackdays on my 'Bird before I got my Gixxer - never had any problems stopping 'cos I never went fast enough to be concerned with braking. (over the years, half-a-dozen on-track crashes taught me a bit more about stopping a bike, though. ;))

I'm needing a new comfort seat - any recommendations? I'm in Lancashire and the bloke I used to use disappeared a while back. And, yeah - looks like I'm gonna have to return to standard headlights before MoT time. Six months or thereabouts to do that, though, eh?! :p

Well - I was expecting at least three pages from you, John-boy! :p

Yer've just lived up to the old saying: "Those who have done the most usually say the least". Bloody typical! :risas3:

EBC sintered! I imagined I was a riding god when I bought me first set of those! Sad, innit? :pancarta:

I've got a Tony Archer seat with gel pads in it, second hand from flea-Bay (a few weeks old, poor sod had crashed and managed to salvage the seat) and only a few miles away.
Highly recommended.

I've got LED lamps in mine- not had any problem for the last few years at MOT time.
