Bet it felt a bit odd after the 'Bird, eh?!

Strangely at the time it felt great to just get back on a bike again. I had received a letter from the insurance company stating 'unless this policy is transferred to another vehicle it will be terminated'. I had been off bikes for three weeks and still had pins in the back of my hand, went round the local bike shops and the Fazer was the only viable option at that time. Took it for a careful test ride and it was brilliant.
Although as time went on it began to feel like I didn't have a full proper bike:(

You do all this stuff yourself?

Yes do all my own servicing and stuff except fitting tyres

If Honda had kept making them I'd still be buying them.

Can you list the jobs an' all please, mate?

Just for the record...! :meparto::meparto::meparto:
On the Superdreams, numerous plastic welding on the panels.
On the Mz125 decoke with a screwdriver.
On the cz175 reconnect the oil pump then disconnect it again when I discovered why it had been disconnected.
Kwaka, welded gear selector to shaft as it wouldn’t tighten up
C90 replace swinging arm after it folded whilst I was riding
VT500 countless work on enclosed disc
First bird, replaced all bolts with gold coloured ones, fitted xx rear light, fitted jaws bungs, fitted db screen.
Current bird fitted a corbin seat used it a couple of times & went back to original, bought xx rear light not got round to fitting yet, fitted ram mount for satnav, cheers Ian Robbo.

Work on the Bird...………. got it & rode it for a month to find all the problems then ………...

Stripped it down to nothing, painted the frame, renewed the suspension, bushes, bearings, wheel bearings, sorted the crap electrics, did the shims & balanced the carbs, changed oil & filters, rebuilt it with fresh paint inc wheels (Cant stand gay red ones) a new rack, new led indy's, new cans, chain & sprockets, tyres, Jaws bar riser kit (proper mans bars), delinked brakes & probably loads more I cant remember, there is a thread about it hear somewhere

Round 2...…….. got bored again so stripped it again sold fairings & bits on here, made new subframe for different seat unit (much altered by me), another set of brakes (Brembo on hand made brackets) new lights all round then got much more interested in another bike so stripped it & sold it off in bits both here & on ebay

All told if it has to be Honda I much prefer a good CBR1000 (without the poxy linked brakes)

Missed a Fazer 1000 off my list.

Clearly as forgettable as every other motorised cycle I owned.

Well - it might be that the next one will be the one where ya get a knock-back.
I was gonna take mine "as is" with the HIDs in but lockdown came along. Still not sure whether to err on the right side by returning to standard. No biggie, but if anyone else out there has had their bike pass MoT with HIDs in very, very recently, please let us know.

Ta. :D
My ‘Bird failed her MOT in February because of the HID but that was at a BMW Motorrad main dealer. A very good mate of mine here is a tester; once lockdown is over, he’s going to re-do the test and he won’t fail her on the HID.

The top one looks like the colour

First bike I rode was when I was about 9.
It was left in the barracks after a tragic accident. Drove it around the yard.
Mother went nuts. Father never mentioned it.
Next time was when I was about 14 belonging to cousin, while on holiday.
It was a James with only a single seat.
I remember the single seat clearly........or should I say the carrier with cushion tied on.

Is this discussion intended to be a list from the beginning of every bike owned? Shit, that’s going to take a while. I’ll start after I’ve had my tea. :)

Nah, I've missed out a few of mine, like the 1978 Suzuki GT380, the 1977 Suzuki X7, the Gilera 50 (can't remember the age), the 1995 Kawasaki ZZR600 E1, the 1993 Yamaha XTZ750 Super Tenere, the Honda CBR400, Ducati 600 Monster dark, Aprilia RSVR Mile, oh and somewhere along the line a Suzuki RG125 Gamma.

The first bike I rode was when I was 16, a mate of mine lived on a farm & had a Suzuki AP50, which I rode all of 30 feet before crashing into a wall.

Just to be different.....

First bike I ever owned - GT185. All my oppos had 250's and I could only afford that.
First bike I ever crashed - GT185. Trying to keep up with mates on 250's (see above). Straight on at a bend, through an 8ft hedge and halfway across a newly ploughed field. I added two extra furrows....but not in the same direction as the field.
One was mine, the other was the bikes. :D

It was several miles before the feckers noticed that I was AWOL.
