I don't think anyone would argue with all the very posive points you've raised Andy but only a fool would ignore the negative points just raised that need addressing.

You are most welcome, and i in return would like to thank you for getting a bike again, because the more people i can help to get on or back onto a bike the better.

agree totally, it is what the help forum is there for as long as it is about birds, coffee shop is there for banter and non bird related help and friendship.

how many people now run
avg
spybot
know how to do their excel bits
what download sites to use
learnt more about their dogs
found cheap ins
cheap parts
have had a feckin good laugh
cry with other peoples pain
meet some bloody good people
have been helped in non bird relateted ways
found new routes to ride
discovered bands/films that they would of passed on before
had people tell you that if you need some muscle they will help you.

I have for one, and i have given most of the above to others as well.

The coffee shop is a cafe on the side of the road where one and all can come into and join in, it just has BIRD CAFE on the front.

the other forums are there for help, rideouts, etc etc.

peace to all. :k

For what its worth!!

As a new boy to the site, I own and ride BB + XVR750.

All I can say is keep it as it is and a big thank you for the help I have got so far with a non BB bike re "ride height on my Africa Twin".

I have gained both knowledge and had a good chuckle, and all for free, cant be bad.

All I can say is....

Fook sake .....Just look at yourselves...

All acting like a child who has had his sweetie taken off him...

Bert, trying to sell BIRD to the already converted.

Pierre, off for a wank(as usual...LOL)

Everyone else defending something that doesnt really need defending.

All Stuey did was ask a question... and look where it has gone...

If thats what "banter/pisstaking" does, then I will sit quietly on the sidelines and just watch you kids throwing a tantrum in the playground....

Skippy said the right thing when he mentioned that the forum has changed over the last few months...IT HAS.... Its mostly pisstaking/fishing/slagging off.

If thats all this club is, then I dont want to be part of it...There you go. another person gone. (Quote Bert-Don't worry about people leaving the forum - if they didn't fit in here - little point in staying)

Jesus, you are all acting like fooking kids..

Grow up !!!!!

Have a good life.

So this site, club, group, flock or whatever is for anybody.

That's OK. But what's the point of a Blackbird Riders site if it isn't riding Blackbirds.
Anybody can socialise with anybody anytime, anywhere.

If you don't have a Blackbird or don't want one, why join a Blackbird site.

There are many of us who have more than one bike and are members of many clubs but I still don't understand why any motorcyclist other than Blackbird riders would want to join a Blackbird site.

If your interest is Pans, Harleys or whatever there are plenty of clubs for you.
Would the Pans and harley groups welcome me as a bird rider.

If this isn't a Blackbird Riders site
why call it Blackbird International Riders Domain?

why not Anyones Rant Site Even Yours

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular and I'm sure anyone who knows me will agree that I am the friendliest of chaps and would not insult nor wish to insult anyone . This isn't personal, just an open question as what a Blackbird Riders group is for.

Get a life, get a BLACKBIRD :neenaw:

What issues? Should this site be moderated or not?

Should someone "else" decide what posts to delete and what not to?

Add in moderators and watch it die

Is a lunp
but only a fool would ignore the negative points just raised that need addressing.

agree, we should not take the piss on the other forums.

I for one read nearly every single post on here and see who is posting, there are certain people whos posts i ignore/find childish/waste of time etc but i just skip, over them or dont read them.

Some posts on here are here because people were bored and it gives them something to do, (song title and sing along thread, every single feckin colour thread).

Please lets have the negative things said on here so that people can see them and we can then ignore them or do something about it.

But what you and a few others dont seem to realise, is that.... All that happens when people can say whatever they want to whoever they want is that it ends up in a nasty argument, which folks just resent...And also the group then splits into two distinct segments (those who agree/ and those who dont)

Roxxo has been sort of chastised for saying this is a blackbird riders group...(BIRD Blackbird International "Riders" Domain). I am sure he isnt saying that to be a member you dont have to own & ride a blackbird, but he is entitled to say it (under your rules), so dont put him down for it...

As for your "if they dont fit in- good ridance" attitude, then there are a lot of people who were here before you and now dont post because of the attitude to "banter/pisstaking/fishing" etc. But they may still be Blackbird riders, but they dont fit into your idea of what "your club" members should be like. If you want a club full of pisstaking/bantering/non bird riders, then form one... Dont take over ours.....

I am not very good at putting what I really think into words, but I have watched a club that means a lot to me go from a group I knew really well, to a group I feel I dont belong to any more... the friendship of this group was something I could use as a bit(a lot) of a crutch to hang onto,in the years of depression I have been through just of late...but, I now see that slowly moving away from me, and leaving me alone.

Maybe I dont "belong" here any more...

Maybe I should get rid of the bike, and find something else to help pass the time with.

You lot have been a great help to me over the years, but slowly have drifted away... Thanks for your help.

Lets see what life brings eh ??

Take care,

Rolfy

I see the site as something like a social club, ie when Bird members meet up the topic of conversation is not just BB's but life in general and some piss taking, and that is the same on here, it is good that members feel comfortable enough with each other to take the piss, if you want a lah di dah, politically correct site then rename it caravanners club or something, each of us have our own personalities, our own sense of humour, and sometimes that humour offends others be it intentional or unintentional, what I do know is that if someone posts a thread in the help forum then that is what they receive, ok sometimes there is piss taking in there, but I know that I personally have the choice of reading what is relevant and what is not.

I've just had an idea... why don't people who want something different from what we have here create their own club/forum, and see how they get on? Meanwhile, why don't they just fuck off and stop trying to tell other people what they can or cannot post? Not targeted at anyone in particular, I'm all for freedom of expression, until some uses it to tell me what to do/not to do. Agreeable?

As I have previously stated I have been without a bike for two and a half years due to an accident on my previous bike (600 Bandit) I had resolved never to ride again, Steve Brooke informed me about this site and after becoming a member then a super sponsor and meeting some of the folk from the forum, and hearing about their spills some a lot worse than mine (Cyclops you are an inspiration) my enthusiasm has returned and I pick up my BB on 1st Feb,
I would like to take this opportunity to say to everybody on this forum Thanks for guiding me back, because if it wasn't for you I would probably never ride again

Please do not change the forum it is ok as it is

Just spotted that  Derek for fooks sake dont think is mandatry to fall off the bike at every possible operutunity like wot I do. Also FUK is not a good example either
