In Saudi "feringhi" literally means shirt and trousers. Colloquially it meant a westerner and not necessarily a Christian. Christians were referred to as "People of the Book". :-0)

I read today the the act of renouncing the Islamic faith is punishable by death in certain circumstances. When Islam allows such acts I think there is every chance that these killers found something in their faiths teachings to justify killing as they did, so they acted in accordance with Islam.

Google "apostasy in islam" and you'll see why they dont condem their own-renouncing or criticising their own faith puts you well and truly in the brown stuff.

The extremists may well know this and know they wont get widespread condemnation from their own.

The trouble with lack of condemnation is that people like myself assume the worse and see the silence as a degree of support for the extremist. Does anyone know any Muslims and can ask why they dont protest against the extremists who are tarnishing their faith??

They won't denounce their own?
So they are announcing that they are just the same & therefore condoning the terrorists.

I've heard and read many Muslims denounce the acts in Paris, since Wednesday, so maybe it's time to pick a better quality paper and tune into another TV/radio station.

Everything we hear doesn't come from the media hacks, most of us meet & converse with a diverse group of people throughout our days, yesterday I was watching a Prisoner at Pinderfields, the main topic of conversation from many of the staff was the assault on Charlie Ebdo, strangely though not one single member of Asian staff mentioned it.
Their silence speaks volumes, if they are frightened to speak out then they are accepting it & maybe they deserve to live a frightened & cowardly existence under Sharia law.

Sorry mate, I fail to see the relevance, we are talking about a despicable act of terrorism & the lack of condemnation by a particular supposed God/Allah fearing people, a group of people who by their own choice generally refuse to integrate with the indiginous people of their chosen homelands thereby creating suspiscion.
Some of them must know who these terrorists are but refuse to give up their identities.

A white (so called) Christian opens fire on a group of school children & is immediately condemned by other White (so called) Christians.

There have been many attrocities carried out by British people which have been openly condemned by their peers so the World can see that not all British people are terrorists or murderers.

By their silence every Muslim is implicating him/herself.

The Beeb reported this morning that 15 imams in the UK have condemned the Paris attacks. Its a pure guess on my part, but I suspect that there are considerably more than 15 in the UK and the silence of the remaining ones says it all to me.

In their story book it says that it's perfectly acceptable to lie cheat and steal from the infidels (non-muslims) so on the grand scheme of things anything they say could be total hogwash, we can only judge them on their actions, and to date thats fairly deplorable.

As one who's whole history was changed by the domination of Christian Europeans, I find your concerns of Muslim dominance somewhat ironic. However the reality of today's world is that, cultures, religions and races are all going to have to learn to live together.
The number of Quran experts here, is astounding. I wonder (assuming they class themselves Christians) if they are as eloquent with the bible. That being the case, then can they help me out on the violence it advocates when that's taken out of context.
Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in the same God. The only real difference between each is the number of prophets each claims walked on earth.
