Nope. In that case, violence was the right answer. What I'm saying is that I don't believe infidelity is a reason to beat someone up. Someone actually attacking you does call for a swift response, one that leaves the other party in no doubt. I see too much violence as it is in the world, and it saddens me to see people resorting to it as a first response, where a more subtle approach may be a better solution. I would have several more friends still alive if GWB and TB hadn't decided violence was the right answera couple of years back.

Opinions vary, so at least allow me to have mine!

Funnily enough same thing happened to me! A girlfriend I was with cheated on me, so I lied about going to work, sure enough loverboy arrived, I came back in, headbutted her, the proceeded to punch her until she crawled.
No, I never really did that, but I'm sure you found the story shocking. Why would it be less shocking coming from a girl? That's not self-defence, so what is it? Is violence as vengeance acceptable nowadays?
As for the police, it's like anywhere, there are great cops and there are cnuts. And the great cops can't do their jobs because of the inane governing bodies. Self-defence isn't allowed either, or possible for most people: women can't even carry mace here, unlike criminals who aren't so shy and simply bring it from France!
So, we are (and weaker defenceless people even more) in the shit.

I think the point is that Mick's daughter did enough to humiliate the creep and wouldn't actually cause him any lasting injuries. If it was one of us grown men that went around doing such things then there is a chance that we could do a lot of damage. Thus, the creep got a bit of a slap and felt like a turd, job done. The Police acted rightly in this case and let things go.

I wouldn't want to be a Policeman in this day and age, far too many forms to fill in, too much red tape and too many people ready to scream if you so much as fart in your own pants! No thanks, I'll stay as Joe Public thank you very much.

I can only speak from my personal experiences

based over (shit !-scary) the last 40 yrs ..... (as mostly a law abiding person)

whenever I have had need to call them and offer them the opportunity

of an "easy Nick", I have found their response to be absolutely 'effin' useless,

whilst I know you "Rhino" to be a smashing bloke, who after your

proud moment of joining/passing out in the force, went through a period of

doubt, then deciding to continue, as you feel that more good can be done

from within ...


You John are a great guy, I predict that after you leave, will realise what

many of us already know ...


In Spain/Thailand I meet "many retired" ex-coppers who milked the system,

to retire early, with imaginary problems ...

A few years ago I thought ACAB (all coppers are bastards) but, that was because I spent most of my time in and out of trouble - usually for violence. I admit that I have a bad temper and I do [did] like to fight whenever the opportunity arose. I have never backed down from a fight and I always try to finish what other people may start. Being big is always a red rag to the pissed up twat who wants a fight and I invariably got the pillock looking for a row coming my way. The inevitable happened and they got a kicking which resulted in me getting nicked and having to go through the rigmarole of trying to explain myself - sometimes to no avail.

However, as the years have passed and my lifestyle has changed I am pleased to say that's all behind me. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to have been any of the Police officers called to deal with me when I was kicking off - poor bastards! But, in the main, the Police have a hard job to do and I',m just glad that I'm not the cause of anymore of their problems.

If anybody says anything different then we'll feckin 'ave some - ALLRIGHT!!

I am totally averse to violence, whoever is chucking it. It was the main reason I quit doorwork - too many doorstaff still do the job cos they enjoy beating people up (even thought the SIA training was supposed to stop people being that way!!!) - and also cos I got fed up with being hit, by women generally.

Personally, I don't think a girl has any better excuse to hit a guy than a guy has to hit a girl. I understand why some do, and sometimes it is well deserved, but as has been said, had the bloke found his girlfriend cheating (hypothetical Ems) then he'd have been jailed had he hit the girl in the same way described.

Now, if you are talking violence to prevent a sexual attack, then sure - from either sex.

I have noticed, partly through talking to a friend this weekend who has had/is having boyfriend trouble, that age probably has something to do with the reaction. As you get older, you feel less need to punch someones lights out (there is usually a more satisfying and less bloody way to deal with it!)!!

Having watched fights between couples start in pubs etc, they usually end with the bloke being arrested. Even if the woman started by throwing the first punch. How is that right?

I am glad in this case that the police were sensitive to the young lady, but I very much doubt that in a different but similar situation they would be so sensitive to a guy who did the same thing - so would that still be right?

I know this is a bit disjointed, and am now going for armour before Mick or Ems start shouting or firing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :k:k:k:k:k
