Wait till he asks the nurse do ya fancy a shag, then they will get him ready to discharge.

Glad to see positives cent. does he want some bike mags sent to him? he may not want to see a bike again but if he does let me know, I'll send em up, the nurses are more tolerant of bikes mags than they are of w*nk mags

Thanks Dufus but...

His Mum is with him all the time and she would prolly have a heart attack if someone sent him bike mags! MTK I think it will be some time before he can suck a steak never mind chew it!

Just heard he's learned a new party piece. He's found if he blocks the trakky thing after taking a breath he can talk past it. Said "Hello" to his Mum and she cried like a baby!
Bloody Hell M8, that brought a lump to my throat. Keep posting the good news.

Bill, I've just brought myself up to speed with David's progress. It sounds like he's had an awful time of it and the recovery is going to take a long time. But, the good news is that he's still here and making good progress. We'll all keep our fingers crossed that he's back to 100% before too long mate.

I, for one, will certainly raise a glass to him and wish him a very speedy and successful recovery. All the best to David!:yo:

All the best wishes for a full recovery for your son Centaur. I can't imagine what you guys are going through at the moment but the post about saying hello to his Mum brought tears to my eyes.

Cheers from the penal settlement down under.

I've followed this thread and haven't really known what to say apart from I'm sure he will recover, the worst is now over.

Having had an accident prone past I can comment on this
They hope that will be his last op but still have to do something to secure his teeth. What, I don't know?
they can do wonderful things with pins (I have 12 or so) and the rest usually is just a matter of time using various supports in the meantime.

One 'word of advice' (if I may) when David is eating again, do not offer liquidised grapes, this is probably the most foul of all concoctions to consume! My mates gave me treacle toffee, ba5tards!

Best wishes to you all.

Still kickin' it!
I?ve followed this thread, too.

At the start I was frowning and, by the time I got here, I was smiling.

I?m not the sentimental type, but (please) post a picture, when you can, of you ? your son and your wife ? smiling and happy together again.

Best wishes,

DA

Update

David has had his trackky removed....left a hole which will heal but for now he has to put his finger over the hole to talk. All connections wires and tubes removed....he walked to the cafe in the hospital today and had a drink through a straw. Jaws are still held together by rubber bands but they are talking about checking him out on Tuesday!!!! RAF are providing a married quarter for David and his Mum while he recovers    But the surgeon does not anticipate any more surgery.hooray!!! Still has clips on his head holding scalp together for the next couple of weeks, still a bit confused at times and is going to be on soups etc for some time but compared to a couple of weeks ago, boy, has he moved on! I will be eternally grateful for the concern shown on here. Many many thanks.
