Thank you all for your thoughts and offers of help. It has been an emotional roller coaster. We almost lost him twice on Saturday night but by 11 am yesterday we had got him back, conscious and breathing by himself. He was overtaking approaching a junction (I know) from his right and a car came out looking only to the driver's right. David hit the A pillar with his shoulder and helmet and then hit the road with his face. The helmet (Shoei) was forced up allowing his chin to hit the road smashing his chin, cheek bones and nose. He was ambulanced to a local hospital, stabilised and flown to Aberdeen. He looked like Jabba the Hut when I first saw him! Six hours of operations on his face, jaw wired up and plates in his cheeks. Breathing through a hole in his throat. (Laper whatsit) Next operation a week Wednesday if swelling down enough. Extensive bruising at back of his neck where the helmet hit him so the helmet definitely rotated on his head. No other injuries so thank God for leathers. Police said speed NOT an issue! Thank you all again for your concern and help and good wishes. Saw a silver Bbird at 12.45 Sat afternoon in Aberdeen as I was at a junction near Curry's on my VFR. Anyone on here?
