It's all right for some

David had a good day yesterday. Three nurses got him out of bed and took him for a shower! Still got tracky in and being fed mainly through a tube in his nose but in good humour. Long term memory great but short term a bit iffy. Still, who needs a drinking companion with a good memory?

Def NOT males John

He is continuously asking if it's time for another shower. Don't know how many actually joined him.

Not for the squeamish!

David was all day in the operating theatre yesterday. They cut from behind the ears up into the hairline and peeled his face off to repair his eye sockets and rebuild his nose. They then put his face back on and fastened it up with metal clips. The surgeons are very pleased with the results but David had his usual bad time coming out of the anaesthetic. He had a bad night with little sleep and is full of needles again and back on morphine but at least he is not back in intensive care. They hope that will be his last op but still have to do something to secure his teeth. What, I don't know? His vision is still not 100% and his short term memory poor but at least he is still here. Take care out there! I still love my bikes but I must admit I am only riding at about 80% of the way I used to......so I am really feckin slow now! Thanks again for your concern and good wishes.

Could they not try a Nicholas Cage face on for size? Maybe a John Travolta?

Brilliant that he's managed to stay out of ITC. And if its the last op, then he (an you guys) can concentrate on looking forward now. There must be a good chance that his vision and memory will improve as he gets better, so will keep fingers crossed for that.

Big hugs to you all

Thanks Guys and Gals

Just heard he's learned a new party piece. He's found if he blocks the trakky thing after taking a breath he can talk past it. Said "Hello" to his Mum and she cried like a baby!
