160 indicated on a very empty French Autoroute in the early hours of Easter Monday. :yo:

Throwover luggage was starting to make the bike unsteady though.

Hehehe... I too had just over 60 out of a C90... now I am quite a big guy, and my mate was following backed right off for fear of running me over....! More terrifying than real speed on me bird...!

I have had the needle off the end of the scale on the bird,(which is indicated 205 mph), but in reality, I guess this would probably not be as fast as 200 mph... not too sure as I didnt want to stare for too long at the speedo and rev counter, but I know there was quite a bit to go on the maxing the revs count... was getting a bit fraught......as this was also , ofcourse, in Germany...

(Just in case everyone thinks I am taking the piss and being a great pub talker...I have tried to put a pic of my bike here, but better with bikes than computers...)

Yes, the colour originally was the reddun... but this wasn't quick enough, so I had to change it to orange... Looks better in the flesh, it changes from almost red to yellow in the light...

The brakes are full 6-pot AP Racing, with Ap master cylinder, PFM narrow track discs - I forget exactly which pads I used, got it written down somewhere...

The forks are proper Ohlins Grand Prix with Harris Adjustable yokes... bit of a tight squeeze, especially as I wanted (no....NEEEDED) a steering damper.

The exhaust is a little bit too loud, truth be told, although it does have a full 12 inches of pipe after the turbo before the exit...!!! I cant imagine why I feel obliged to get it in the garage before midnight with this bike..... Neighbours eh... but you gotta live next door to them...h1d1ng2

handles and stops too....:yo:

Aaah... yes....
I saw a little about this whilst on the net a couple of days ago...
To be honest I am not the best rider in the world, and I am more frightened of breaking it than anything else, I cant afford to bend it...!
I cant even go to watch either as I am out the country till end of July...
pity, but I am sure there are plenty faster than mine, just not birds.......
I wanted to make a more unusual thing than, say, a Busa turbo... I loved it when it was standard, just now it makes my grin harder to remove...!

THAT is one sweet looking machine, despite the colour (which i like very much) its not yelling "LOOK AT ME"

I'd be proud to own that, well done indeed.

About 10 years ago I reached 44mph on a bicycle. It was downhill but I was still pedalling like a madman. I dread to think what state my knees would have been in coming off at that speed.

mmmmm Marchenesi's too........ very very nice
I was very very lucky with the wheels, I managed to get 2 pairs of ex 500cc GP bike wheels, from a team who Luca Cadalora raced for in the mid 90's.
You can't buy fittings for these, so I had to have sprocket carrier and sprocket made for them (My mate had the other set and we got them fitted to his ZX12R)
The tyres weigh considerably more than the wheels... infact, the paint probably weighs more than the wheel itself...!
The rear wheel has a strange 3 bolt configuration, A wavy disc is being made as we speak, real pain NOTHING available off the shelf for these!

About 'yelling look at me', yes, ther colour is a bit garish, and the exhaust is a bit too loud, but I really wanted it to still retain the bird kind of look, albeit a bit racier. CBR600 mirrors for now, still wondering what is best for these...c7u8

many years ago, I was about 9 when racing bikes were not too common I had a go on my friends newun....
He told me to race a C50 down a very long hill in Hythe in Kent from top to bottom, then through the town...
Well, along the flat the C50 pulled away, but was slowed down by the resistance of the engine....I screamed past down the hill peddalling as fast as I could, dunno how quick, 40ish I guess.... not the least bit worried of stopping... Unfortunately, some nice mini owner opened his door as I was passing and I hit it...folded it back nicely and ended up in hospital... Broken leg, 3 cracked ribs and dented pride, all covered up with a fair amount of skin missing... My mum had to pay for my friends bike, but the mini owner paid half...(how times have changed)
I never felt safe on a pushbike since, but tried mountain biking coz it looked safer falling on the grass...:-:

It's difficult to reach 44 on a push-bike. Mine was down hill somewhere between Stratford and Redditch, but I was wearing a helmet and proper cycle mitts so perfectly safe. :dunno: Most mountain bikes can't get past 30 with all those knobbles on the tyres and excess useless weight.

Not so, doing some M.biking on my Pantera GT a few years back, nice fast down hill, on a good grippy surface.....R#? came to a brow of a hump, took off..... fook..... :xm soft sand front wheel dug in and the bike stopped dead... I continued doing a flying sumersault.. landing and rolling to a stop.... my mate stopped check I was ok and then pissed himself laughing for about 15 minutes....
