Lorry drivers and their companies being fined.

For illegals found on their vehicles. How unfair is that? If I was driving an artic, I would be tempted to cram as many as I could into the trailer, lock it and then unhitch and drive off. Let the authorities deal with the cart load of monkeys.

Did you really just say 'monkeys'?

Regardless of our feelings & sympathies for the genuinely oppressed our little island is not big enough to sustain the amount of immigrants flooding (not trickling) in, as Bev puts it "you can't fit a size 18 woman into a size 10 dress"

Clearly your missus doesn't get out much these days....there are some right horrors out on the raz in most towns at weekends...

Yes, as in "Crafty as a cart load of monkeys" I suspected someone like you would read something else into it.

Someone like me? Presumably you mean someone with a little sensitivity to the subject being debated and the fact that it is 2015.

I have never heard of the expression you quote but I don't know everything.

Surely even 'someone like you' might acknowledge that it was perhaps an unfortunate choice of words?

Wind your superior neck in. If you haven't heard the saying, Crafty as a cart load of monkeys" may I suggest you broaden your general knowledge. I have never used derogatory terms to describe anyone, as you suggest.

Andybird, Can you explain why it was an unfortunate choice of words?

Cameron used the word swarm, which could be used in reference to insects.

Animals are equal to Humans.

Interesting, you pick up on the reference to Monkeys without associating it with what preceeds it "the cartload of"
I think Barrie deliberately drew you in there knowing that you or another would jump on the reference, just goes to show, things aren't always as they appear.

It's amazing how some supposedly intelligent people's minds work, doesn't it, Derek. I can't believe he has never heard the saying before. If I got up to mischief when I was young, my grandmother would say it to me and I'm not an immigrant.

We had a couple of expressions including cartload of monkeys.
Funny as a barrel full of monkeys.
One I could never grasp was "as clever as a chimp with a pipe" I think it was some reference to a pg tips ad that used to feature the chimps

My kids loved the PG tips Chimp. Was the PC brigade responsible for its demise?

I didn't suggest that at all. I said it was an unfortunate choice of words.

Thanks for the personal abuse by the way.

If you were suggesting it was an unfortunate choice of words, it implies that the word was used in a derogatory way.
It's not my fault if you had never heard the phrase or saying.
Before you commented on here, you may have saved a retaliation if you had typed the phrase into Google.
Personal abuse? Don't be such a drama queen.
