I decided partly on opinion of a guy I know who dabbles in this kind of stuff.
And it's manual.

asbestos team have arrived and listed all the stuff that will need to be replaced on ‘new for old’ basis….most of which I was expecting (all the Parker Knoll furniture, dining room suite, carpets, blinds, soft furnishings) but loads of other stuff as well, including, happily, my ancient laptop

pain in the bum sorting it out, but overall there are some positives in terms of getting stuff replaced..

my estimate for the claim is now well in excess of £50k! And to think at one stage we were thinking of just having the ceilings replaced and not claiming on the insurance!

Todays tip……..Make sure your insurance premiums are up to date!

Up early today for some strange reason, pottered up to the chemist for yet more tablets (2 a week for six weeks, no I don't know either! :nusenuse:)

Went up the shed just for a look like you do, saw that the dowel I had fitted in the HW99 stock yesterday had dried good and solid so thought I would do a little more to it and I have only been back inside long enough to eat my dinner :) the Weihrauch underlever stock now fits a smk break barrel action and is srripped and sanded ready for oil or whatever finish I decide on

Before anyone asks, there are three reasons I am doing this
#1 Because I have the parts and once tuned it should make a good little fun rifle that actually looks ok as well
#2 I enjoy a spot of wood butchering
#3 its going to properly do peoples heads in trying to figure out what the hell it is as it wont look like either of the donor rifles

Went to get quotes for replacing furniture…staggering how much it has gone up in six years.

Parker Knoll suite was c£2800 now £5300 albeit not quite the same as the one we had is discontinued but with same material on new one. Only real difference is we had a manual reclining chair before, they don’t do those any more so lelectric one ordered. Eighteen week lead in from order

Oh dear oh dear, I think you’ll find the lovely lady would object to being called an inn
Pub?

Dinner is what you have in the evening.

Hence the expression ‘dinner and dance’….traditionally held in the evening.

Fact.
