The actuator is separate to the pump, it switches between hot water & heating.
It’s a stand alone pump for pushing hot water from the cylinder to the taps.
Nothing to do,with heating..

Ah, the good old reliable derry boots, a colleague used to wear them on his cg125, he pranked me one day so I filled them with water

Looked at the clothes we wore last night and marvelled how wet we got walking home from the curry house. Not much you can do when the rain is so heavy it gets you by bouncing back up from the ground. Biblical.

It does.
it boosts the flow of water from the hot water cylinder to the taps. Also does some cold outlets as well, this time from the storage tank In the attic.
Poor water flow……..One of the very few downsides of living in a bungalow
