Ya Need..............

One set of VTec VFR 'bars .....the pre-VTec ones used a smaller diameter fork leg so won't fit.

Set of allen keys........Oh sorry, I'm getting carried away here !!!!:}

Straight swop....other than you may have to file off the locating lugs on the switchgear from ya 'Bird cos I don't think the VFR 'bars have a hole to accept the lug.

Hope this helps

You Need...........

The 'bars from a 2000 onwards VFR Jono if you're ringing round the breakers for them.

The pre 2000 models used a 41mm fork leg and later models went to a 43mm, the same as the 'Bird. Earlier ones can be made to fit but you'll need an engineering shop to machine out 2mm from each 'bar.

Remember as well.....after you fit them you'll be sitting higher on the bike so windblast may be a problem, D/B or flip up screen may be the next item on your shopping list !!!!!!:} :}

Drill the bar rather than file the lug off your swith gear or you will be wrapping tape around the bars to stop your switches rotating :beer:

Older bars

Hey Pete. Do you know if the earlier bars give the same lift as the later ones? I cannot imagine much problem reaming out the diameter to make them fit. I have had no luck finding a pair of post 2002 ones and this would seem a good answer. They would probably be a lot cheaper too.

I would hold fire just for a little while, I am seeing an engineer today about making risers for me that should give you about a 2" lift and allow you to use your own bars.
I don't know if you have seen a set of vfr bars but they aint pretty:puke:

RISERS

Good stuff Pete, Always wondered why someone didn't come up with them sooner judging by the demand there is for them. Keep us posted.

Oop's forgot to post sorry, got company staying at the mo so will be brief.
The design I first had in mind would cost ?90 a pair to manufacture, so out of the question.
I have just come up with a brilliant design that should be a lot cheaper, but once again I have to draw it out and take it to the engineers.
If you can bear with me I am still working on it and it should be worth the wait. :beer:
