- everyone can have bad days.
- every group has their share of grumpy gits and windup merchants.
- 99% of flames aren't personal.
- the moderator suggests have a spine.
- the sweetie goddess will be along shortly.

Please don't bring Rotties into this, they are a wonderful friendly breed, it is bad owners that turn them viscious, anybody who slags [please don't change it to "shags"] Rotties is a Motorcyclist, not a biker :-0)

Can I change viscious to vicious then Derek without being classed as a "motorcyclist"?:-0)

After recently getting a virus on my computer, I had to buy a new one, without Microsoft Word. Thus I have no spellchecker, which is unfortunate as I'm about to start writing my dissertation.

Still...I guess I could just post it on here, and sooner or later some fucker will correct any grammar and spelling mistakes I've made. p0pc0rn41

Why not try this

Works without MS word

Or use OpenOffice, which is free too.

Its a Shame

I'm grateful to Jaws for saying what needed to be said.

When I first joined I thought that I had never, ever been on such an unwelcoming forum in my life. My initial impressions were; hostile, unfriendly, pompously judgemental, and all in all pretty crude. Totally the opposite of what I have always found with every other bike forum, and for that matter every other biker. We're supposed to be on the same side, aren't we?

Its a defence of bullies and ill mannered people throughout the ages to claim that their victims are 'sensitive'. Sensitive, Bollocks!man8um (well yes, naturally, but thats a diferent matter). That's a pretty pathetic attempt to deflect attention away from their own bad manners and ignorance.

No one who rides a bikes a powerful as a blackbird is likely to be a wallflowerh1d1ng2. What most riders ARE likely to be is experienced and mature at least some of the time - and its not surprising if some of them want to be treated normally and with the sort of welcome that you'd expect from what should be natural allies.

And this is what saddens me most about it all; there are enough people out there trying to get us - dozy cage drivers, the rozzers, government, speed camera extortionists and judges who need a reality check (and a bundle of Fireworks up their Fundaments for good measure).:shooter: Lets be a little more tollerant, less judgemental and realise that we have more in common, both as bikers generally and as riders of one of the finest machines ever built by man in particular.

I've no desire to fall out with anyone - but any good forum should be a Broad Church - able to accommodate various shades of opinion without difficulty. When is all too rapidly degenerates into abuse then its just tedious, and there are many more interesting things to do than hang around. E.g. c7u8

Its a real shame becuase there is a lot of expertise on here

and above all the bike is just fantastic. perhaps we should concentrate on what unites us rather than what pulls us apart.

Here endeth etc.. bl4hbl4hbl4hbl4h

gotta jump back in on this
When I joined and read some of the posts I also thought sh_t there are some real nasty bits of work on here.
BUT I ride a bird an no F-cker on the road or off it takes the P-iss out of us. Now all on here are bird riders so its a lot different.
I have seen lumpy and a few others really go at it, and at first glance it can be a bit intimidating.
To take a note from my own family... we try to accept most people however if we are taking the P-ss then you have made it to the inner circle and are allowed to give it back.
I can only assume that lumpy (sorry I use you) and the others MUST know each other quite well and fully understand where each are coming from.
Other newbs out there dont be disheartened, I will try to get to a meet and greet. Then it will be open season if you know the people.

Guys (and gals) .. one of the problems might be that what you think is folks being offensive to each other is actually the continuation of the fun from a previous meet or bash... the follow on from camp fire bevys if you will ....

Durex gets a pounding from those who know him actually like him and have met him .. as does Bert .. despite Lumpy's attempts to pretend otherwise :-0)

Same holds true for much of the apparent intolerence .. it's often actually anything but.

JAWS rightly reminded us that newbies mights not realise this or be upset if they didn't realise the background.

Lumpy of course derides anything to do with camp fires ... although almost anything else camp is OK with him.

Best advice going for a newbie Mac

It's true that a lot of us know a lot of us but ONLY because some take the effort to go meet people. I was a nebie once and knew no-one, the first person I met was someone who wanted to hurt me, so I went and met him. That was many moons ago, and due to having meetings at my place, meeting individuals, and going to other meeting you gradually get to know the real people on here, not the forum personas. Durex Cooly appears to be a complete wanker on here, ah, not a good chice. Right, Fat Bert is a complete knob on here, and ah, another poor choice, but most of the others are fine

I think it is abit prima donnasih for a newbie to come on an established forum and expect to change it because they have joined. Most seem to lurk for a while, see the way the land lies, and then they know what to expect. Somedays some people are more tolerant than on other days, sometimes people have bad days, but we're all generally grown up and should be able to relaise this isn't real life but an electronic forum, the bikey equivalent of a chat room. If you don't like it, harden up, give as good as you get, fuck off, or don't post things that can be retaliated on

At the end of the day, some of the percieved wankers are the most helpful people you are ever likely to come across they just have a daft sense of humour and it would be boring if we were all precious and had no balls.

I don't mind being used as an example at all, and I relaise I do 'accidentally' wind some people up but I'm no different in real life. I have a Bird, have served my apprenticeship on here and on bikes, and feel I have an unalienable right to do what I do.

What was the question again?

Lurk for a bit until you see what is really going on. Once you see how things really are then either join or don't.

Now come on, you know perfectly well that if no-one will argue with Lumps, he'll have an argument with himself.
