Going slightly off subject, whilst I’ve been taking Ramipril on a daily basis for high blood pressure I have suffered with lower back pain & found that I’m prone to coughing & can’t shake it off, been off Ramipril now for a week, no back pain, no coughing & I feel tons better.

So have you gone back to the doc. You may be intolerant to ACE inhibitors (I am) and there are ARB's that will do the same job with your BP. (ACE inhibitors are always their first route)

It was the Surgeon at Pinderfields that took me off Ramipril & put me on bisoprolol, I went to my GP on Wednesday & informed him what had happened.
Talking to my Brother who was in charge of the medical dept at Leeds uni & he told me that it was a female professor who he worked with that did the tests on Ramipril.

OK, so they've moved you on to a beta blocker. It does take a bit of time to find the right meds that you're body can tolerate. I went through several before the latest ones.
