LAKES ride 2005

I went over last Easter with a bunch of guys who were a lot more experienced than me. TBH, the actual passes were not as nerve-wracking as trying to keep up with the guys on the busier main roads round Windermere and Coniston :blush:

The passes are steep, and the roads are narrow, but riding in a group meant other stuff seemed to get out of the way sharpish, and from my position, in the middle of the pack, all I had to concentrate on was keeping the bike going steadily up, or down!

I was a bit nervous about dropping the bike (my Fazer) - and I've no doubt I'll be even more careful not to drop the Bird - but the sense of achievement was worth the worry, and the views are great.

Not got much practice in last year. So I will be rather rusty (thats if I ever get the bike back in one piece again)

John - if you don't mind a CBR1000 hanging onto your coat tails I fancy the Lakes Run. Definately no outfit!
