I can't think of anything better! :sisi2:
Yes, I can imagine if you could choose the manner of your own passing then it would be to be slapped to death by a big titted woman. :risas3:

Sounds a bit like a Monty Python sketch I remember.....

I was thinking more of mouth to mouth from a particularly gifted woman, but either suits (y)

And so the bad news keeps on coming.

According to the junior who came in to see me earlier they will be having a discussion if it’s possible to do stent(s) and if so how many. That’s a relatively quick op and can be done very soon.

If they decide it’s open heart bypass surgery needed then that’s a different matter as there’s a list. Several of the guys in the ward I was in are on that list. And the op isn’t done here either, it’s at Derriford Plymouth 40+ miles away.

In which case they’ll figure out if I can get it done privately at the local Nuffield. It’s only money, and there’s no pockets in a shroud.

Bollocks!

Don’t worry about your behaviour…as far as I can make out all old people carry on like that.wait till Dirk finds out how he’s behaved. Dirk would be home by now dry stone walling.

I know I’m posting a lot on here, and elsewhere, and perhaps it may seem a bit strange considering why I’m in hospital. But I have to do it, I have to have something to take away the thoughts going around in my head.
I am scared shitless, there’s no other way to put it.
What is going to happen today, tomorrow, or even in 5 minutes time
This all gives me some focus otherwise I’ll drift in self pity and go further downhill.
Let it out Simon, it’s no good bottling it up, it’s an understandingly negative emotion thats better dealt with by getting it out rather than keeping it in, much like the crap you’ve already got rid of, try to keep positive mate and try to treat the negativity the same way you treated the crap, try and give it a mental flush mate.

Keeping everything crossed for you mate, stents seem to be the go to fix these days and all my mates (quite a few as I recollect) who have them were all up and about within days of the op. The latest one was transferred to RDE from Barnstaple and eventually down to Derriford where the op was performed, two days later home on light duties and doing very well, was riding his bike within a fortnight.
A work colleague had to have a triple bypass as for some reason they couldn’t stent him and although the recovery time was longer he’s now back to the hunting/shooting/fishing man of before.
Have they told you why it’s taken so long to make a decision?

I’m pleased you like it, here’s a closer look for youView attachment 63501
Actually looks like quite a decent job. At least they have mixed up the batches of bricks which is more than most do these days unless you stand over them.

Not keen on the down pipe. In Zurich it is very common for houses to have polished copper guttering, that is really really nice.

Just saying, like.

Hi John. Yes they have I’ve spoken to the surgeon himself a bit earlier. He’s a bit African so took a bit of understanding when you’re as deaf as me and can’t read lips behind the mask.
Wednesdays they have a group meeting to discuss upcoming patients. I was admitted too late for last weeks, and so they will discuss me in 2 days.

There are pros and cons for stents and bypasses. If your arteries aren’t too badly clogged then a stent maybe the best option. Clearly it was the only option to have one done when I came in to keep me alive. Then there’s also the question of how many they need to do, I think they won’t want to do more than about 5.

if they don’t want to do stents for whatever the reason, safety, feasibility etc. then it’s a bypass Your pal with the triple, ie 3 arteries, was presumably the only option at the time. As they’ve stented one of mine does that mean a double bypass?

Anyway, a stent op is quick and easy under a local anaesthetic but with possible problems - but they all have those. A bypass is a major operation, open heart and all the major concerns for those.

I have had a snippet of good-er-ish news today. My missus has had extreme pains for many months and we’ve been to various GPS and consultants, blood tests , scans etc.

Today at the Nuffield she met another consultant who was able to make sense of all the various results. No,she hasn’t got liver cancer like her mum died from, she’s got gall stones. Amazing - she had her gallbladder removed 20 years ago. Hers are growing within the liver and will be a straightforward operation (is there really such a thing?) an overnight stay and out again. Then the consultant said the NHS will be 2/3 weeks time and sooner than going to him privately - go figure!
