OK so ordering the stator today. Can you confirm it is the one that comes to around ?91 on the Jaws website. Seen cheaper elsewhere but would rather put it towards the helpful people here than some eBay guy.

How do I ask for faster postage? I'd liek to get it operational ASAP :)

Have ordered it, did it yesterday I think.

Hopefully it arrives prior to the weekend, otherwise I'll be stuck in the car again next week.

Does anyone know roughly how long this takes to get delivered... I'm hoping to actually use the bike rather than commute to London in the car constantly, the new gasket has arrived but no stator :(

if that stator was still connected to the bikes electrics when you tried to fire it off another battery, it was probably drawing some current off the battery (because all its internal resistances will be fooked) and therefore resulting in a weak spark......until you get the new one fitted, you really will not know what else is wrong.

A little unlikely 442.

The diodes in the reg/rec stop current flowing in the wrong direction as well as rectifying the AC from the alternator. If the diodes did not do that as soon as you switched on, before starting the engine, you would be shorting the battery to earth. :-0)

My regulator is under an hour old @tu* I don't even think it was getting any power lol

yes, but depending on the nature of the failure, it might not be a direct short to earth... in which case, weird shit happens..you might have any number of permutations of resistance in parallel with the Diodes in the Rectifier... doing god knows what.

No need to lift your feet folks.

it's only 442 bullshitting! 8rfl@

Well, the stator has arrived, a little disappointed as it is just a standard Electrx world one, not a "heavy duty" replacement at all, as this is likely to fizzle and melt 8rfl@

Oh well, the annoying thing is it was ?10 more to buy and wait nearly a week for when I could have got one next day for cheaper :bang:

Will update Wednesday with readings once its been installed... and made as you are required to create the connectors yourself :)-(

Came from Jaws... so unsure if I'd want the wrath of B.I.R.D on me ;)

Installed the new stator, nice and easy job but she still won't fire.

Turns over nice and fast, but it looks like the krypton factor to get a HT lead off to check for a spark.

I'll try bumping tomorrow to check AC and DC voltage.... any ideas why she won't start on the button? Spins over freely... :bang:

What about it exactly?

It is set to run, primes the pump and that...?

Yup, key on and Bbbbzzzzzzzzzzzzzz then the HISS light turns off.

Then it just turns over and over
