He was riding a GSXR1000 K5 at the time, lucky for me I couldn't make the ride that day. It's can be a lot faster than that.

I've seen over 180 on the clock going over shap on the A6. We tend to keep off the big A roads these days and do most of our scratching on back roads.

Err....124mph.....so he was still in third gear then? I admit that these kinds of speeds are very reckless and if anyhting goes wrong then there's a lot of damage to be done.

I'm rather well disciplined with the throttle (specially as I'm a whipper snapper)but pretty much everytime I go out I hit 120 at least once (on a nice open straight bit) and yeah I'm very paranoid so it's normally wind it on in third until it hits 120 then almost immediately back off to 90 odd.

Come on!!! We ride Blackbirds for two reasons. 1 because we've got pillions to take and 2 So we have a bike that does 0-naughty in very short space of time!!

I am suprised (pleasently) that people on here don't advocate this kind of riding though...
