However,i dont EVER EVER break 20s 30 & 40s in villages & towns. I NEVER speed in built up areas...or outside schools at 3pm. I dont have noisy cans-in other words i dont draw attention to myself.
But,hell, when the mood takes me(at least once every day)i break the bloody speed limit.I quite often have a quick squirt up to 130 or so on my way to work-it only takes a few seconds anyway.I watch my mirrors like a hawk & never do it when the conditions dont suit...
Personally I take exactly the same approach.

i agree - speed doesn't kill - only poor use of it. i just think that when we are caught doing it, the punishment should fit the crime.

124.MPH

MCN are saying that these speed cams are not accurate on bikes because they are designed for wide vehicales and have never been tested on bikes. There are court cases out standing for more on this try the MCN webb site. do you home work and I wish you luck. Andy

True. Speed doesn't kill.... it's the sudden deceleration on the other side that does. :p

If MCN printed the fact that December the 25th is Christmas Day I would proly think I had been mistaken all my life

I honestly do not know how they get away with printing SO much absolute crap and lies.. To say they mislead with the drivel they print is a massive understatement !

The sooner folk stop buying the ruddy comic the sooner we will get a real weekly paper with decent reliable info in it :p
In other words Xblader, whatever you see in that particular publication, I would suggest you take it with a very large pinch of salt !

... Xblader.. ineresting name choice that.. Now is it cos you have a Blade with an XX engine or do you have a CrossBlade ?

Ayah, it's no different here in the states with speeding. We do, however, have a s--tload of places to go fast. Lotsa room. All over the place.

Now, as for our fines: not too much different than yours, actually. I was popped for 125 in a 70 zone Dec 04, and ended up with a 30 day suspension, 2 points on the license, and a $1011 fine. (works out to around 578 GBP).

Here, in the insane asylum we call California, getting 4 points on your license in a 12 month period, 6 points in 18 months, or 8 points in 24 months earns you the label "negligent driver". At this point, your license is suspended for 6 months followed by 6 months probation. (note: most traffic violations are 1 point - speed in excess of 100, racing, reckless, DUI, hit-and-run are examples of 2 pointers.)

I'll be honest: I don't mind the ticket. I enjoy every aspect of the XX's abilities, and figure it'll happen every now and then that I get caught having fun. This is the first one since '93, so it's acceptable. Hey, if I work out the cost as averaged over all the times I've banzaii'd on the throttle, it works out to a couple of bucks. Hell, I'll pay that.
