Oi Stan

and didn't we push him a bit?

Even he admitted [when we stopped for petrol].........

"We're going a bit quicker round those bends than we normally do"

so it has to be rider error - riding beyond his capabilities eh?

What say you?

Totally agree Pete. Fitted Avons and have never even had a doubt. Gave the Bird a good time out at Mallory in torrential rain and then in the afternoon on a dry track. The only brake of adhesion that I experienced was due to the idiot on the throttle. Toured the french/Swiss/Italian Alps after that and the tyres look good. The shape is outstanding with no squaring off at all. The confidence they give after always fitting 020's is amazing. There is no going back. R#?

Might I suggest Continental Road Attacks as a sensible fitment?
Stick like poo to a blanket, good feedback, excellent wear, (start with 7mm of tread, still got 2.5mm after 5,000 miles on the rear).

Certainly don't spin up like 020's do......And the bike seems to stop better, but that might have something to do with me being more confident when applying the anchors...

Avon v BT020

I fitted pair before a 2000 mile hike to Espania, absolute dogs danglies. Rode the 260 from Bilbao to East coast via Andorra, absolute silly angles of lean in the Pyrenees fully loaded and two up. Only had one hairy scarey on a fast left hander in the rain just after the dreaded smell of diesel, you know the one that makes your backside go into spazium, but yet again everthing composed it`s self in a nano second. Back tyre lasts so long because it has 7mm of tread and in my experience it has got to be Avon every time.

By the way I had 010`s on my other bike the Blade, didn`t rate them either that has now been booted on 207RR`s for the last 3yrs now they are sticky!!!!
