Sorry.. Missed the other half !
Hard wired to a switched point, mounted on a home brew mount which was basically a long lump of 8mm threaded rod through the headstock
Bottom end large washer and a nut, top end a plastic ball I got from a chandlers.
I then used the supplied arm to lift the gps up a bit
I have this same type and thought some might want to see things incase they want to make their own...my camera is crap but you get the point
The main thing is the 8mm threaded bar so I will work from right to left just because I can
starting at the right side end, a nycloc nut for an 8mm bar, then a 1 1/4 wide washer with an 8mm center hole.
Then the 8mm threaded bar, this one fits right at 11 inches long
Then a 3/4 inch washer and rubber washer again with an 8mm hole
Then a 1 inch long 8mm thread joiner
Then the black ball with a 8mm thread and this one has had the thread cut down to 7-8mm in length (I remember John called this a particular thing but All I know it as a ball with a thread at one end and an allen key head at the other) The ball is 1 inch wide
join all together except the bottom washer and nyloc nut, remove the rubber bung from the headstock collar (put it somewhere safe) pass the thread down the headstock tube and then put on and tigten the washer and nyloc nut whilst tightening the collar too then simply screw in the vall with a bit of blue threadlock.
Job done
and yes my pictures are shit but again, you get the idea :-0)
