Hiya Paul, been in touch with "Bob" ref the bolts, he's sending me 2 as there's 2 twat navs to secure, postage has gone up a bit "surprise surprise," but I must say the service seems very good, sent an attachment to ensure we were both aware of what I wanted, and they should be with me within the week, thanks for the heads up.@tu*

I was in Milton Keynes picking up a new toy. In Milton Keynes I needed all the help I could get to leave the bloody place, even the cows don't talk to you.

All you had to do was use a proper satnav and put Baldock in and you'd have had way more fun. ;-0))

I was enjoying the new toy so much a 1.15 ride became 2 hours, although I'm sure an hour was getting out of Milton Keynes.

I use mine on the commute every day and I know where I'm going (honest!).

It updates with the traffic etc, has my music, phone etc. Works for me but fully appreciate we all have different requirements @tu*

Use google maps. What else could you need?
I tried Nokia's "Here" on holiday and quite often the maps were out of date.

Hi folks, planning to fit my Zumo 590 to my new to me Blackbird.... can someone clarify how to remove the headstock nut please?

Why do you need to remove it?

I'm thinking of mounting a threaded RAM ball to it.....just exploring the best way to go about it. On my GTR1400 I used liquid metal to fix a nut on the underside of the nut, then screwed the ram ball thread down onto it....

Just at the 'head scratching' stage of planning at the mo@tu*

The ram mount for it uses a sort of rubber expanding bolt thing so no need to remove the top nut..
And if you remove the top nut and put a bolt through the hole you will not be able to retighten the top nut up cos it will be full of bolt !
Those of us who are not dripping dosh for a pucka ram mount have used a long bit of threaded rod all the way through the top nut, right through the yoke stem, and out the bottom with a nut and penny washer underneath @tu*

Thanks John, I did read you'd done this with a ball from a chandlers....may be the way forward .....what did you ask for? Obviously there has to be a hole in the ball to screw the rod in ? I'm thinking sizes etc @tu*
