Applications for the Assen 04 GP weekend are now closed.

The party is 15 bikes out from Dover and meeting Inspector en-route. Out of the 15 bikes 4 are none blackbirds. They will be carrying 27 people.

So it looks like a good weekend is on the cards. I have set up a mailing list and will send blck emails to all on the list so everyone is up to speed on the developments.

Cheers all

**Important** hotel choice in France

Choices,, choices,, choices
Right I have a price back from Holiday Inn Calais for B+B,, price is 92 euros per couple,, and 71 euros per single person,(single occupancy), secure underground parking is 8.50 euros per two bikes ( about ?2 each)

Now I can vouch for this hotel having stayed there B4 on a few occasions,, location is good bars & eateries up the road,, Beach is 15 mins walk:dunno: Parking is underneath Hotel accessed through a drive in lift.

Other option is a hotel in St Omer,, prolly an Ibis at about 60 euros per room,, not sure about parking or location though having never been there. If anyone has other hotels etc,, please share.

So I will go with the majority on this one,,,,, so its over to you,,,,,,, also the Holiday Inn are asking for a 30% deposit 2 months B4 arrival.

Thats about it really.:h

** UPDATE 2**

Just got this e mail from Holiday Inn,, please read,, If anyone backs out then room rates will rise,, because at the mo they are allowing us group rates on 14 rooms booked. ( should be 15 minimum)
There you have it.

Dear Mr parsons,

I have check your group for 24th June 04.

The group rate is available for 15 rooms confirmed.

At the moment, you have only 14 rooms left.
We allow you with the group rate for 14 rooms.

Should the number of rooms decrease, you wouldn't have benefit of the group rates. You would have a 115 Euro rate per room including buffet breakfast and tax.

Yours Faithfully

Just a general post to the Assen crewe. The hotels in both Calais and Assen have been reserved. The ferry has been booked and the cheques are arriving by the day. When all the ferry money is collected I'll settle the account with MST.

I have recieved an e-mail from the Assen hotel giving us a menu choice for the Friday night. I'll send that out over the holiday. You have a while to make your choice so I am not expecting an imediate responce.

So things are all go go go. All we need now is for June to get its ass here.

On one final note, DB and Moog could not be persuaded to join in this years merryment. Sad i know, but just think how we can bore them with tales of daring doo.

Lastly,

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEWYEAR

Hi Jon

Just a quickie (story of my life) to say Hi and hope everythings going okay in your world.

If theres anything I can do to help just ask.

BTW, have now got the palm top and full tom tom navigation software for Eastern Eurpoe, so no fear of getting lost now, ha ha.

So ride outs, from the hotels need not be anything to worry about as just hit the home button and follow the talking lady, great.

Hope to catch up with soon, say Hi to Anya for me.

Got 2 weeks off from 19th June. Just trying to decide where to go - other half passed her bike test in November and fancies a bit of touring around Europe on her CBR600:yo:

As Assen is in our middle week, this could be a possibility. What hotel are you staying in at Assen - or which town. Might be able to book something and meet up.

Never been to Assen before, so what's the best place to see the racing from. Just been on to the Assen website, and apart from the Grandstand and Finishtribune they appear to have tickets let for most other places.
