just got off the phone to a friend of mine who used to be very high up in honda, he went to goodwood for a black jacket do at the weekend on his 1050 sprint st which he loves. four top japanese were over from honda with whome he is still on first name terms with and they said, what are you riding, he told them and they said we must really get you back on a honda, how about we get you one of these vfr 1200 sent over and he basically told them no thanks why would i want to ride that its too ugly, too heavy and why would anyone want to spend that kind of money on a vfr when the price opens them up to just about any mainstream bike on the market. he turned them down flat on a free bike and would rather ride his sprint!!

wot a twat! not that I'm pro Veefer12 but come on if that's true the guys a fookin moronc7u8c7u8

Crap!

Back to the thread then....

Many years ago, having owned 3 VFR's, 6 Pans, a Bird and ridden the VF1000R, I thought that if Honda ever produced a shafty 1000cc VFR it would be an instant success.

However.. :dunno:

Jeez, but it is SO ugly!! I'd love to love it, I really would, but whichever way I look at it the bike is ever so ugly. Bugger! I have just bought a 1300 Pan cos my wife wasn't comfy on a Bird, what chance would she have on that postage stamp of a seat with the humpy thing in a very unfortunate position?

:yo:Lets give the new HONDA a chance remember it's a Honda we buy them because we know they are built to last!.... allegedly there are 9 birds in the world with a Million miles on them!
On that note I would like to introduce you to a very special HONDA Iv'e been riding it at work now for 5 years...... it's 10 years old and it's been sunk in wet holes up to the handlebars more times than anyone can remember, It's been upsidedown in a very deep ditch..with the rider! Everyone who rides it seems to be transformed into RED BULL X RIDERS so it's hammered everywhere, It regularly tow starts things more than 10 times it's weight, And it still starts first time on the button, And God only knows how many hours it's done!!!!:yo:

Surely I am not the only person to have noticed the claimed BHP of this pile of shredded shit is the same as was claimed when the Bird first hit the showrooms ?
WTF ???

Soooooo, 13 years of advancement and Honda have managed to produce something that most folk would not shit on let alone sit on, that is gonna be a complete arse to keep clean, has a dustbin, luggage melting exhaust and delivers the same oomph as a 13 year old bike..
Big up to you Honda.. If you pull this off and get people to buy it in the same numbers as have bought the Bird, I think your adverts should be checked for subliminal suggestion, cos this is not a leap forward, it is a leap sideways into the landfill site !!

Anyone remember Yamaha's GTS with hub centre steering? I think this will go the same way. Kawasaki are doing it with the GTR1400, too high tech. Wait until they start to give trouble, you wont be able to fix them at home and most bike garages won't either....I'd rather have a back to basics bike. Now, where is that Honda Dream advertised?
