New VFR

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
Next year - I'll let you have a go on my Blade
Just don't do a "Blumeeni" FFS !!!
Thanks, but I took me mate's 'Blade around Oulton Park earlier this year. Ohlins, Pazzo's, slicks - the lot! :bow:proper Lazy Man's bike! :-0)

All that power on tap - better looking, better handling, better braking and much, much faster
- but less demanding and a lot less fun than me old Suki750

..Got bored watching the VFR blurb. Sounds like shit and why's he keeping pressure on the gear lever - does it jump out of gear an' all? :dunno:

Amazing difference in the "blood-tingling/excitement/I want one" stakes watchin' the old 'Bird tho', innit? p0pc0rn41

The Bird [in comparison] is an old mans bike
Suits you Sir
The 'Bird is a rider's bike! All you need to do is understand what's possible.

Didn't you listen to the VFR video-blurb - or did you get bored an all?

"The new upright riding position"... ..."Sport bike"... ..."Street bike" (anything but a friggin' tourer!)

"Automatic gearbox"...bl4hbl4h

Yeah - yeah - yeah ...

Your Bird corners really well - whats that on the lower fairing? Gravel Rash?

What did the Official Launch Video say ???

You want a track bike - go polish up ya Gixxer

..No-o-o-o, sill-y-y-yy; that's what happens when you're on a bike that can go around corners... p0pc0rn41 ...Of course, the rider has to be able to go around corners, too... But I'm not sure whether you'd understand the concept... :-0)

"Built for REAL WORLD RIDING"
(Yeah. That one did 73,000 miles in 4 years. That's fekkin unreal! :-:)

and get your foot OFF the centre stand!!
Tosh! On a bike that can use ALL of the road... ...Ya gotta use ALL of the bike... :-0)

Poor excuses ..................

Panel Rash cos of limited ground clearance - ever thought of 6mm spacer?

Real World Riding cos unless you're welsh riding "dog" [sorry dyslexia kicked in temporarily!!] you don't have to get your knee down to go quickly - ask Buzz or Derel Kelly - they know :-0)

Centre stand - next you'll be telling me you showed Rossi the way with the foot out routine in left hand bends

...E-eeee, clutchin at straws a bit, now, aren't we? That was with a 6mm spacer fitted, but even without, the BB's still more fun to ride (nearly) than it's given credit for.

Keep the speed down to 20 mph if/when you're trying to change direction or you'll be doing some unexpected mono-wheeling on your new scooter-bike

leanangle01.jpg

...And by the way, thanks for mentioning me in the same sentence as Valentino Rossi. It's quite a compliment but, believe me, he's not in the same class as me and never will be! :-:

...Did I mention the fact that the centre stand is a standard fitting on the Blackbird, by the way? OO-yes... ...I believe I did... man8um

Sadly I'm afraid that Bert-The-Sage-But-Lost is proly right in saying it will be a sucess.

Honda will have done their marketing homework and carefully calculated all the details.

It's just that those of us who think it's a fugly waste of space are not their target group.

Somewhere out there is the target group and Honda know they'll buy it.

Bit like supermarkets ... not a sign of one in an area until the right numbers and social groupings in the catchment area are forecast .. then they all rush in to build just before the predictions are due to show up.

So ... The Berts' Have It :bang:

We're only discussing the all-rounder 'F' version here

The proper 'Blackbird' like tourer will be called the VFR1200T, then there will be a dual sport version to take on the GSers

I'll wait for the VFR1200R - it'll be an icon like the RC30 was:yo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO9YVYg4FyU

Agreed - the so-called "all-rounder" is just a (12k-plus ) BMW-clone, designed for lovers of... ...BMW's. p0pc0rn41

It barely out-performs the current Bee-ems and its only advantage is claimed to be its build-quality. Now there's a surprise! There's an appraisal here. No mention of prices coz it was done in October, but if the "basic" model costs 12K, how much is the "Full Monty" version gunna be? ;-0))

Sounds like when the BB came into being..... It too barely out performed the current leader of the pack of the day. The ZZR1100, only difference being the BB was a virtual clone of the ZZR, wheras the actual difference between the VFR and the BMW is vastly greater than in the ZZR/BB..... really make's me wonder why you arn't sat in a time warp riding about on a ZZR:dunno:

S'pose like me, if price didn't enter into the equation you too would be the proud owner of some VFR1200 varient.......

A somewhat belated afterthought, but; the new "VFR" package holds no attraction for me, regardless of cost.

viff.jpg

...In my opinion it has a LOT less "presence" (and performance) than this...

Kwakka.jpg

I've test-ridden the ZZR1400 and it doesn't suit me - and I never liked the look, or feel, of the ZZR1100, either...

zzr1100.jpg

...So I bought four of these... (not all at once..! :-0)) because it suits me, my missus, our comfort and our requirements perfectly.

...To paraphrase a well-known Yorkshireman...
