Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
A couple of days ago I got the following e-mail from Honda

We are very pleased to tell you that the new VFR 1200F will be launched online on Thursday 8th October at 12.00 CET (11.00am GMT). On the website will be films, downloads, full technical specs, interviews, animations of new technologies, 360? of all three colours and much much more! Make sure you are in front of your computer next Thursday to be the first to see the new VFR!

No sign of anything on the VFR website at 12.42 GMT - why am I not surprisedr? :dunno:

And I have been asked to keep an open mind about it ??
The only way I can see me ever owning one of those is if someone gave me one.. and then I doubt I would ride it fuckin ugly piece of v technology shite

This aint even about if it is or isnt a Bird replacement. it is about Honda fuckin up MASSIVELY and trying to do a head job on everyone in the hope it will eventually become popular.

Yes, as I have said, it will sell .. All new bikes sell.. But will it ever gain the cult following of a Bird.. No chance.. it is merely another poorly conceived bitza bike right up there with the Varodiddly.. A bike stuck in limbo with absolutely no genre to call its own.

Without wishing to sound confrontational, I quite like it. It does tend to grow on you the longer you look. Deffo dont like the white as it appears to make it slabby, red, well I personnely dont like red so I'm biased but the silver (surprise surprise) would be my preferred choice.
Would I take a dabble, well thats put it this way, Ive been into C.J.Ball and been put on the list for test rides in Jan 2010 when they receive their first model.
The argument tends to be aimed at the techonolgy being "over done" but how many people now service their own cars.
I always said I'd buy the Birdy replacement, and you know, I think might just do that.

The 'X' face denotes its half an XX. Only problem is the 'X' face looks like a 'Y' face denoting 'Y' did we make it.

The fairing does not cover the lower part of the engine and the crud will flick off the front wheel right in to the gap between the fairing and belly pan, the gap does not look big enough to get your hand in to clean it. Another summer dry weather bike.

190 section rear tyre..

Now if you left click on a rotation arrow and while keeping it depressed move your pointer to the bike it'll keep spinning and not stop... best bit of amusement I can offer. And, you can still change the colour while its spinning...

Agreed!

The most successful motorcycle manufacturer in the world rarely gets it wrong

I was at the official launch of the new Blade - saw it - laughed at the road-going slipper clutch - threw up at the design - that rear-end still is wank

BUT

the journo's and the people who own it/ride it, have nothing but gob-smacking praise for the way it handles and performs

Same will apply to this new model

Price will be interesting though - I reckon it will be the wrong side of £11K - but that in itself will keep the riff raff away

People who can afford that sort of cash on a toy aren't going to be unduly worried about high servicing costs either - it'll just put a premium value on Official Honda dealer stamps on the Service History Book

I want one - and I want one NOW

Too heavy for me and the weight will be too high up. I may try one... but not too bothered.

Mick, I'll give you a tenner for the slow silver one.h1d1ng2

New BMW, er mean VFR

Where are you guys getting all the technical info from, such as weight and fuel capacity? I cant find any of that stuff on the website.

No pictures of the bike with panniers, despite it having integrated touring racks. Guess Honda haven't finished them yet...!

MCN are also claiming its the Blackbird replacement.

Not impressed, and agree with others that the price is probably going to be in BMW territory.
