After last nights postings I've been giving it some thought, and decided to lobby my MP regarding animal products, mainly flesh. My problem is this, if I go out anywhere I have to put up with the disgusting stench of murdered meat cooking. In resturants the air is laiden heavy with the putrid smell of animal hydrocarbons, which cling to your hair and cloths. You come home from anight out smelling like a neanderthal from too much cave dwelling.
Sea fronts are proberly the second worst, every step you are inflicted with the appalling aroma of chargrilled fat polluting the promenard. The pleasantries of the sea air are lost in the clouds of pollutants wafting from grubby little caravans and stalls, encoureging rats and vermin to spread desease.
Then there's the filthy habit of taking milk in hot drinks. I have to work along side colleagues who participate in this dire practice. The smell on thier breath of decaying milk residue is stomach churning.
By far the worst must be BBQ's. I can not even sit in my own garden without some thoughtless thug incinarating the flesh of a murdered animal. The clouds of smoke and foul aromours of dead animal invade my peace and tranquillity, I have to shut my windows to stop the inside of my bungalow smelling like a burnt out animal carcass. How fair is that? Many times I've been tempted to shower the mindless creatins with my hosepipe to see if that would make them stop. Perhaps if I typed it in a different colour it might sink in that MEAT IS MURDER, and stinks too.

joe cost of nhs for smokers is around 2 billion, the tax from smoking is over 8 billion.

Again I have to agree with you, but Chav scum could be solved with a few simple measures,like, public floggings for law breakers, benefit withdrawl and just a good kicking every now and then to let them know what a waste of space they are

how about banning all vehicals that have a catalytic converter (which are said to be good for the environment), but actually produce harmful gas for humans (the rotton egg smell you get from any vehical, being particually noticable when someone boots it).

Or does that happen to take away your right to spend your money where you feel fit... as per anyone who happens to enjoy a smoke.

Do you buy food that is wrapped from a supermarket, to which the wrapping is excessive and costs money for disposal, or do you grow your own food.

Choices are what we all have... not maybe your choice but someone else's who has his or her own choice.

bl4hbl4h I may be in the minority these days but............ i am a smoker, i enjoy smoking, i don't like the smell on my clothes but i am prepared to accept that as part of being a smoker, i agree that non-smokers should not have to put up with having their clothes/hair smelling of my smoke therefore i CHOOSE to smoke in a place removed from non-smokers. I work in a single occupancy office and have for many years but have always smoked outside (just in case a non-smoker has to come to my office on business). I do not smoke in my car and most certainly do not smoke in my house. If i go out on an office social function (pub or restaurant) i will always choose to indulge my habit outside. This may be a one-off but i do these things because i have been GIVEN the RIGHT to make my own choices.
I have just finished a book by Carl Mills called Smoke Screen about a tobacco company in the US. They were facing a $2 Billion lawsuit. The company publicly agreed that smoking was bad for you, they voluntarily withdrew cigarettes from the shops, closed down the cigarette manufactories. Within days the cigarette workers were out of work and claiming unemployment benefits from the government, the anti-smoking lobby were finished in one fell swoop, the public were revolting because they had had their RIGHTS violated (freedom of choice) and the government were forced to increase income tax to make up the short fall. I know that this is a fictional book but how far from the truth do you think it is? Not far at all. The tobacco industry knows that it is bad for your health. The tobacco industry PAYS for the anti-smoking lobby. The tobacco industry knows that they are taxed to the hilt...... but they also know that if smoking is banned completely the government will be forced to put tax on other things. It will have to put tax on almost everything to cover the revenue that is lost from cigarettes. Smoking will be forced underground thus making it more desirable to young people.

It's all about freedom of choice. if a non-smoker doesn't like my smoke move away from me (you won't need to because i choose to smoke elsewhere anyway) but please don't take away my RIGHT TO CHOOSE. I will respect yours if you respect mine.
