"9 volter juice" that actually caused a bit of seepage. I'll smoke to that :-:

I did the Blenheim Triathlon last Sunday in 1hr 36 minutes (750m swim, 20Km bike, 5Km run) - had two fags before the start to open my lungs and put in what I considered to be a pretty decent performance bearing in mind the temperature.

Bloody good on you...................... I really don't care what others (g'ment) want, feck them! If those bu..ers tell me to start smoking I might give it up. Fact is that everybody has some bad habits (I even have friends who are banjo players) so what.

I'm still baffled why smokers have to go outside, if non smokers want fresh air they know where the door is

I have not been to the pictures, since they stopped smoking in side.

Nor have I used public transport since they made trains, busses and taxi's no smoking.

This reminds me of a factory I used to work in about 10 years ago. We had one tea room for all staff. Then the non smokers wanted thier own tea room, as they did not see why they should have to breathe in someone elses smoke.

So they got their own tea room. only trouble was no one used it, as all the non smokers were in the smokers tea room, so they could talk to their mates.

Then they complained about the smoke in the smokers tea room, so both tea rooms were knocked into one large no smoking tea room.

So the smokers moved to the outside fish pond, and sat on the benches, for tea and dinner breaks.

And guess what the non smokers, then started to come down to the fish pond, at tea and dinner breaks, again so they could talk to their mates.

They then tried to get smoking banned at the fish pond. At this piont the manager, told them to feck off.

I think you have every right to smoke. I also think that others have the right to NOT breathe secondhand smoke or have it permeate their hair and clothes. Smoke (or do whatever else you wish) as much as you wish provided you don't affect others.

so i lose my right to smoke and drink at the same time.

So the existence of drink-drivers justifies smoking? I'm not quite following your logic there. I also note you haven't mentioned the effects of secondhand smoke although you've accepted the possibility of death through smoking.

no, just saying drinking cause far more hurt than smoking

Leaving aside the fact that my cousins and aunt probably qualified before my uncle died of smoking, that argument is another red herring.

did he beat them because he had a few fags too many??? i doubt it.

I've heard some do treadmills in the gym, some use parks, some jog early (before traffic build-up) and some even live outside cities

how do they get to the Gym?? parks have fresh air do they??? do the fumes stop and saying oh shit it is a park!! early joggers must be at 4.00am then cause by 5.00am peeps are driving. Where is there a gym and no cars, buses etc etc

I look forward to smoke-free pubs, a smoke-free canteen at work and smoke-free restaurants.

and i am disgusted that the gov. could not come up with a way to please everybody. yes by all means have smoke free pub etc etc but at the same time have smoking pubs, dont want smoking need food. Pubs should be allowed to choice and so should the private clubs.

I do archery on a smoke free site, it is a field, if i want a smoke i have to left the site, i dont mind that it is the camps rules set by the camp owner and members. but for the pubs etc etc to be told that is it no smoking is just a joke.

our drivers at work will no longer be allowed to smoke in the cab, because somebody else gets in them every night to unlock (who is also a smoker) so the driver will take more breaks and cost us more money which in turn will cost you more money for your goods.

Fuck em all thats what I say. It aint gonna stop me havin a tab or twenty. And when some twat gets in me face about it i'll jump up and down on there's.

When the ban came in up in jock land, I got a pull from plod for havin a tab in the truck as I drove over the border. Fer fecks sake, get feckin real.

Me grandad died in WW2 so I could have freedom to choose, now this bunch of red twats want to take that away from me. Was a time that the government was biased towards the red flag, now I reckon they have desires on the 3rd rhiech(?).

Now if any of ya have got a problem with me havin a smoke, then feckin tough tits. Deal with it and get over it. And while your on, you might as well have a go at me teaching offroad driving and selling Landrovers for a living, lets face it, some reckon they are destroying the planet man8um

Now where did I put me lighter g0nn3

OK, You take a bath/shower, you use deoderant, shave maybe, a little bit of aftershave/perfume put on your best clothes want to impress, look clean, looking sharp, smell nice then you cover your self in a pungeant smell of burning smoke, you squint because your eyes try and hide from the smoke and to make things worse, you are effectively shortening your life and pay for it

Why should they ban it ffs, your proud to smell like an ashtray and it's your right to let people smell you walk in the room before you actually do.

hail hail freedom of choice

I have never smoked - it just really winds me up that the nanny state sees fit to spend time and money iplementing and policing this ban when there are sooo many other ways that that oney and time could be spent more constructively.

I've working in and run pubs over the years, and there have always been non smoking areas in every pub (mainly cos I don't smoke) and they were empty 90% of the time!!! c7u8 c7u8

amen to that...likewise i don't smoke(unless i'm pissed  ),but i don't mind if other people do either, but i've gotta say...i prefer the atmosphere in the pubs since the ban came in in wales, and most people just except it and smoke in the designated shelters etc etc,and it's a bit of "the fear of the unknown" maybe.. :dunno:
