I feel that the police were involved, even if only peripherally.

Unless he'd had a device of course, which they believed to be the case,

Why did they believe this? What possible grounds could they have had for this belief?

Damn right- when I was in the military I had a very big gun. I also had rules about who I should & shouldn't shoot.

I can remember locking up Lee clegg who was jailed for shooting some young innocent children......

Who were out Joyriding and had just driven through an army checkpoint without stopping, Lee did what he was trained to do but has had to live with the consequences of his actions every day since.

It seems the 'Plod' members of the forum , ( Why are they called Plod, is it for their swift and diligent response to any given situation ?) do not like general criticism of their profession or their colleagues. As well as wanting to Police us whilst on duty it seems they also want to Police our thoughts on here. Don't take it personally, it's already been said the public will focus on what the media portrays. Every profession has it's stereotypes whether good bad or indifferent, so why rise to it. Just accept the fact no matter what you do for a living , you cant please all the people all the time, thats the way it is for all of us , but it seems you lot want special dispensation to be considered perfect at all times. Just admit it some of the Police deserve to called cnuts , though most don't, and some are rightly rewarded and recognised for going above and beyond the call of duty , but in the main , the majority are just 'plod' doing their job

So i'm supposed to just sit here and take this utter drivel being dished out by people who know nothing about the system and by people making generalised statements which clearly include me..............BULL SHIT!
I will fight my corner until i'm blue in the face.
No i'm not perfect but neither am i lazy or work shy, not do i skive, bully, pigeon hole or racially abuse people, not to mention shoot them dead for no reason.
I do a damn fine job to the best of my ability given the constraints i have put on me, now, if you can't understand why i'ma little sensitive over it then you must be very one sided.

Wolfie

Is a lunp

its because you are a northern monkey busa rider aint it? and plod to cap it all off.

Fuck man i am sorry for you.

DK, I think you'll find I didn't say anything about big guns and military, you'll be getting me in trouble again.

How can generalised statements refer to you? They refer to folk in general. Statements referring to you would be specific statements, surely?

All bikers are hooligans, a generalisation but if you are a biker it refers to you
All southerners are shandy drinking pooftah's, another generalisation yet if you are a southerner it refers to you
A statement doesn't need to be specifically directed at an individual for it to affect someone

Rhino, I said SOME coppers are cnuts, SOME coppers deserve to be rewarded for going above and beyond , but MOST just 'plod' on with their job, If you strive as hard as you say you do you will have included yourself in the second category , so why do you take it as a personal insult. If you consider yourself to be either the first or third option, you are only judging or insulting yourself. I have done work for loads of coppers around Gtr Manchester, Chehsire and Merseyside, including some very high ranking officers and even one from internal investigations, aswell as many 'beat' Bobby's . All the work I have carried out has come by way of recommendation, and over the years I have come to know some of them quite well, so dont assume I have no insight into your work. I stand by my original post , not as an insult , but as an accurate observation.

The Media are well known for sensationalising everything, are charges being brought? just because you haven't heard anymore on the subject doesn't mean it's forgotten
Isn't it nice when the IPCC backs me up? Perfect timing, too.
Here's today's news report on the subject:
"Two Muslim families caught up in the "terrifying'' Forest Gate anti-terror raid were innocent victims of a failure in police intelligence for which Scotland Yard should apologise, an official report concluded.

At least two of the occupants of the raided houses were physically struck, while another was shot in the shoulder by armed officers employing "very aggressive'' and "frightening'' tactics, the police watchdog said.

All of this was based on intelligence about the existence of a chemical bomb which soon proved "wrong''.

As a result, they were entitled to a direct apology, the Independent Police Complaints Commission said.

No officers are facing disciplinary action as a result of its report."

I notice the kiddy porn allegation has quietly faded out-I'm sure that if it were true it would have received a brief mention.

I would be interested to hear anyone trying to defend any of this, especially the part where nobody is being disciplined for shooting an unarmed man or striking others.

I didn't say 'REFER', i said "Include"..... there is a difference.
It DID include me although it did not specifically 'REFER' to me.

Get it right before you "quote me"

The families also criticised the IPCC, describing its report as a "whitewash'' and accusing it of failing to investigate whether the police did anything to check the intelligence before launching the operation.

Firstly I'd like to say, if the police carry out a 100 raids and only get it right once, thats fine by me. Anthing to send a message to the extremists, that they will be hunted down. As for the police useing force on a raid , well WTF!, how the hell can you expect anyone to raid a house, possiably containing nutters with guns and explosives, and be polite.
Secondly, share with us your convictions, as you seem to have an unhealthy hatred towards the police, normally only sprouted forth by convicted criminals who consider the police to be everyones enemy.
Thirdly, the Brazilian was an illegal immigrant running from the police, and was warned to stop by armed police, he kept running and got shot. Tough shit.

  The last time an officer tried to do a softly softly house arrest on a suspected terrorist it was one of my own colleagues, Mr Stephen Oake, he was MURDERED on the spot by the suspect Kammel Bourgas.......... Now tell me we should be so soft.
Stephen was stabbed to death in a flat whilst protecting his 'soon to be' murderers " HUMAN RIGHTS" by not placing handcuffs on him.
Stephen left a widow and 2 kids..........is that justified :dunno:
