Scandinavians are taught English as a second language and take to it easily as much of it is based on old Norse. English conjugates verbs pretty much the same as the Scandinavian languages do. You can thank the Vikings for that.It's strange really. We have many words in Scotland that are shared in Norway, Denmark and Holland. If I want more of something I say mare, likewise they do too. I live in a hoose they live in a hus and huis pronounce similarly. For the Church we go to the Kirk and they go to the Kirke. We say bairn for a kid and they say barne.
Interesting really.
They all have a commonality with earlier Germanic languages, which is where the Dutch fit in...another bunch who speak English better than us.
