Shame about that Trophychap~~~

You should have complained.

I've eaten up there frequently and rarely have been disappointed

The reason we should order food "up front" is because normally they close the food side down at 5.30pm - if they know the numbers in advance they will keep the cafe open just for us

As the meeting schedule progresses they are quiet prepared to do a special meal exclusively for us [if that what peeps want]

and unlike the Derby the don't charge you ?7.50 for a burger!!!

Alternatively, as you say, there are cracking Fish and Chip shops down the road in Matlock Bath

The whole idea of this "get togther" is to .....[oddly enough].... "get togther" not to provide a four course dinner

Problem is Bertie

Some of us have regular jobs and don't finish work till 5 Oclock on Fridays, we then have to get home get changed get the bike out etc. We are then faced with the best part of a two hour ride traveling at 30 or 50mph past feck knows how many speed camera's therefore our arrival would be close to 8pm.

Owing to the fact that Jenny is a class one diabetic I am afraid regular feeding is a prerequisit. Its no joke riding with a pillion passenger that is slipping into a hypoglycaemic coma belive me!
(you have seen her! she unfortunately saw two of you!!! LOL)

So if we had to stop for food before we got there it would hardly be worth the trip.

PS Let me know if they will be doing 8oz steak chips and peas @ ?2.99 like they do at the Victoria at Coalville.

You'll be

pleased to hear that i cannot make any of your meetings this year now that the date has changed.......bit of cunning from the FAT one there

I might go to the bash....mmmmmm only a maybe..
Reefer gave my room away at the LAKES due to my cheque being 1 day late (dunno how he got another cheque in his mitts instantly,,,maybe it was a ploy to give the room to a darn sarfer).

Oh well, so much for the social side.........

Update from Gyppo~~~~

''STOP PRESS'' UPDATE ON CYCLOPS EPIC JOURNEY!

The change of dates has been a fortunate one regards to one of our members and, may i say dear friend , CYCLOPS. Alas he has been suffering numerous problems with such things as the weather ( headwinds up to 5mph/damp roads/bends / 1in30 hill climbs. and most recently a breakdown

Nothing wrong with the bike ! he just cant stop crying!!

One can only feel concern for the next hurdle he faces ,
'' The traffic lights at Belper''
Will the brakes work ?
Will he keep his ballance?

Our thoughts and prayers are with you mate !

10 miles gone 10 to go

MAN on the PAN
Help Needed !

Bad news i'm afraid on the Cyclops front !

Latest information recieved at the control center was that CYC!
as his friends? call him
has made a slight detour to his planned route due to an slight map reading error by " Superbird" the route director

but as they say " every cloud has a silver lining", and as there are numerous Left turns to make to get back on track, this will even out the "wear" on the tyres due to the Right side wearing down quite badly on the roundabouts .

Should any members be in the area around "Belper" in the next few days could you please keep a eye out for a
"PINK BAR END TASSLE"
It seems the velcro supplied by Bert has not lived up to expectations !

(This may also explain why CYC'S left leg has been flapping in the breeze?)

As yet the customised "TOOL ROLL" has not been needed but thanks are due to "TOYS R US " for donating this product.

Fuel consumption is better than expected due to CYCS method of killing the engine when going downhill !
( i just hope he remembers where the tap to turn it onto reserve is!)

While were at it i think the sponcers deserve a mention for all there help and advice given freely ( except Bert who rented the velcro strips)

ELASTOPLAST (first aid kit, asprin, special plasters for forhead burns)

RALEIGH ( tyres , bar end tassles off currant Barbie model)

SUPABIRD ( MAPS R US)

SHELL ( Diesel Division)

Don't start blaming me~~~~

as everything cyclops does is "User Error"

First time he tried the "velcro Tassels" he got a bit mixed up and ended up sticking them on his nipples

Photo shows him in training
