great news bill, Ref the RAF comment, ( dont know family info ) i presume he is mob, If you need any extra help , i can contact the bike clubs at the local units, as I know they will be willing and able to assist in any way :yo:
David has been discharged and is in a married quarter at Kinloss with his Mum looking after him. He looks pretty grim but is making progress. Hopefully the clips on his scalp and stiches round his eyes will be removed next week and he will then (touch wood) be moving down to his Mum's house for the forseeable future. Vision and memory still not 100% and since the last op he has lost feeling around his mouth. Surgeon does not think any of the nerves were damaged but can't be certain. We will just have to wait and see. Again thank you all for offers of help and support. I'll update when I get any news.
Great news Bill he should make better progress now he is at home each day he shows improvement must be a big relief to you, keep on keeping us informed & the offers of help still stand
Sorry to hear about his wipeout but i am glad to hear he is doing better. My spouse had a similar accident and ended up with a gimp leg and is stuck in a wheel chair for life.
Best wishes to him and a full and speedy recovery.
Cheers from the Great white northw;;v
Not around much anymore so didn't see this until now... Sorry to hear but glad he's on his way to recovery. Been there too many times, I know the value of support from like-minded peeps. Now he's mending if he's got positive thinking he'll be sorted in no time!
Mate firstly my apologies for posting so late but i have only just got back on and read your emotional rollercoaster of events.
i can only offer mine and Lisa's best wishes to you and your family and what an amazing recovery. you have one strong fella there mate.

all the best mate to you and yours.

Metal clips are out and rubber bands removed from David's jaws. He is still eating liquidised food and will be for some time! Well done his Mum who has been a real star and is very strong for him. Vision improving but short term memory still very poor and he is sleeping a lot of the time. Body recuperating from the trauma no doubt. The docs say the feeling around his mouth will take up to 18 months to return completely so that's going to be a long haul. Police are going to see him today so we'll get to hear if they are going to "do" him for a traffic offence! The bike is reckoned to be a right off by his mates. LHS undamaged but RHS totally trashed. David is seeing the RAF Medical Officer on Thursday and if he is happy David and his Mum will be travelling back down home to Boston on Friday. Next appointment in Aberdeen is 18th June. Thanks again to all for the thoughts, good wishes and offers of help.
