You do not need sticky tyres on to get a knee down, almost any tyre will allow you to do that, but wearing through the fairing requires a certain amount of commitment and confidence in your bowlers !
So in other words, I can't get my knee down without scraping the fairing..? Hummm.. I believe this calls for a bike No.2.. brok3

It dont altogether mean that. Its horses for courses really.

I get the feeling that you getting your knee down is another box to tick???

You need to get out there and have a go. If ya worried about the fairing then dont even bother trying. Some riders are very quick with just a bit of peg scraping others like the 'maximum attack' way of doing things.

Iv taught both, its just what ya most comfortable.

One thing you could try is to move around on the bike. Place your body weight on the balls of your feet and try and guide the bike using this method. But remember to relax.

The whole idea of knee down, is to try and keep the bike as upright as possible during a corner.

As I have said before, just give it time and dont try to force the issue.

Safe riding.

As Martin says your fairing sholud not touch the ground if you get your knee down as the whole point is to keep the center of gravity as low as possible whilst keeping the bike as upright as you can.

The instructor who made it all click for me got me to put the balls of my feet right on the outside edge of the pegs so that you can rotate your hip out further (bloody hips were killing me after a bit, must be getting old ), that worked on the 600 and also on the trackday at Mallory on the 'Bird' (though the lower edge of the fairing does now bear some battle scars where I got a bit too excited R#? )

Thanks for clearing that up, John!! :yo: As I've scraped the pegs with P Power + P Road before, I feel pretty confident that the P Power 2CT and P Road2 will be up to the job when I start practicing on getting me knee down..

Too bad I'll have to wait another 3-4 months before the roads dry up and the temp starts rising again..! :violin:
