Does god exist????

gypsy

MAN on the PAN
Agree with lumpy (ffs that hurts) show me the proof and then we might be able to look at god in a different light.

jesus was according to some a conman, one of many at that time, word is that there was 7 others at the time claiming to be the son of god, yet his team made the most noise and he was the only one who was nailed to a cross.

the missing testaments from the bible are said to be locked away under the popes arse, the testament of mary the hooker and of simon i think it was, both indeed are supposed to of stated that jesus and mary were married and indeed did have kids. they also are supposed to tell of the brothers and sisters of jesus, but until the pope and his cronies release them and everything else they have collected over the yrs we will never know.

Surely one of the gods has left total proof that they exist? but until this proof is shared then they never will have of. Of course the proof will not come out because the rules and beliefs have been changed etc, rome 4 century springs to mind, when much of the bible was rewritten and pages removed by all accounts.

one of the commandments is do not worship false gods or something like that, yet in every church there is a bloke on a cross. who is/was a god, maybe the likeness is of the son of a god but it aint god.

there are black madonnas, virgin marys as white as snow, all false yet all worshiped.

it doesnt bother me that peeps need to want to belief in some greater good or whatever, but please proof it to me first or dont bother shoving it down my throat, My roman catholic wife cant explain it to me, the penguins at the church ignore me now, yet the retired priest was the only one who just smiled and said believe in what you will as he can not give me physical proof.

In times of war and great hardship, followers of god turn towards god once again to gain some inner strength, to me that is great that they can find something to give them that, but if it is so good for them then, but then they leave the flock again when things are better what sort of person are they then?? swallow?? selfish??

god does not exists, but gods might.
If there really was a god they would have bought you a spell checker by now :-0)

You might want to youtube Derren Brown's Messiah squag....he had random people fainting away with "the spirit of lord" after putting an ad for agnostics and those that doubt their faith (cleverly worded) in the New York Times. happens in all "religions"
Need comfort?....Argos does a mean hot water bottle and hot chocolate always works for me.

If you can get people to believe the unbelievable then you can get them to perform the unsupportable.

Rationality flies people to the moon, irrationality flies people into buildings.

I have had that happen me on several ocasions when blessed by a relic of St Faustina. It's a remarkable experience. If somebody pushed me over I would naturally grab at anything to stop the fall. I wasn't expecting it to happen but I had no desire to reach out I just seemed to slide gently down without any feeling of danger or injury. There was a guy there to catch people who 'fell' bit I still didn't expect it to happen to me.

The prayer centre I mentioned has it happen all the time, but not to everybody who is blessed.

I also experienced the perfume on a St Pio day. It too was completely unexpected. They gave a talk and then showed a video of the life of Padre Pio. The very second it started I got the perfume, most clearly, no immagination or doubt. About 40% of the people there got it. The man who runs the centre was as surprised as everybody else. He had the experience himself at Padre Pio'c coffin when they exhumed him a few years ago. His body was perfect after many years dead.

Logged in after a while & somehow this thread was the first I saw on the forum.
I've lost my 3 month old baby Alana on 2nd October last fortnight and I dont know how life will be for me & my wife Rein anymore. While she was my little baby, she was already our happiness, our everything. Whats for sure is my faith in things is shaken, nothing really is that big/ critical/ worth fearing anymore. Whether or not God exists is the last question I seek an answer to & hope it stays that way.
I do hope he/she/it does not exist.

If you have read my posts you will guess I believe. I was only convinced very recently. Yet I cannot understand why you should lose such an innocent child. I don't undertand why a friend at work has just had a child who will never be able to look after herself. I don't understand why the church today is so far off the mark of the teachings of Jesus. My mother lost a 3 yr old, my eldest brother, and even at the age of 85 she would still cry when she talked about him, and my father often talked about him too.

If God is so merciful, why this. Why why ?
One theory is that earth is a testing ground !

On a postive - I do think it's good that generally people's views (both ways) are being generally respected.

When I was a child up to early teenage, my mother used to take me & my brother David to church for the morning service & leave us there for Sunday school & the evening service, we used to dread it but looking back it opened our eyes to the hypocrisy & back stabbing that was rife in the church, I don't know if my mother actually believed in God or if it was just a crutch for her low self esteem & alcoholism.
I know for a fact that the pastor knew of my mothers addiction to sherry & he used to have my mother baby sit his young daughter, he always had a well stocked drinks cabinet & told my mother to help herself, remarkably she never touched a drop at his house as she had to drive home, but once she got home she would drink about a litre of sherry.
Religion is the root of all evil, each professing to be the true worshippers of God when in fact all they worship is greed & misery.

A couple from my church lost a child shortly after birth a few years back, they already had a son and now have a daughter too. This topic aside, they might be able to help you through the emotional rollercoaster that you are bound to be going through. Obviously you won't be able to meet up (your tag says India), but if you could do with their support I can get your their email address.

now as times have changed and the wealth of the land has shrunk and more people are finding in harder and harder to make ends meet, i can help but notice that the churches are filling up again, more people are going, i have also found myself talking to to something/somebody when i am on my own.

The whole god thing is beginning to be become clearer now, i sort of can see why, and then again maybe there is something to gain from it.

hhhmmm funny how views and things change

When I pray coincidences happen and when I don't they don't...

I believe you can go through this life not believing and you may be right that there is no God but I'll go through life believing there is one if your right, at the end we both die the only difference is in life I took comfort and believed I got support through the hard times hopefully this made my life easier. But if i'm right woo hoo i'm going to live forever in heaven, even if i'm wrong it's not a bad thing to look forward to in a world with so much bad shit going on..

As for science, look back 100 years at what science believed to be true 100 years on we think we know better than them, now we believe we have got it right, maybe in another 100 years people will look back and mock our science, just maybe....

Sorry to raise this one from the dead so to say just couldn't resistbl4hbl4h
