But they can refuse to serve you if you keep it on

And how exactly can they refuse to serve you? Fuel has been taken and they're going to refuse payment?

Somehow, I really can't see that one happening.

But not turning the pumps on

Slight flaw in your argument there.

You take the fuel, go into the kiosk to pay, refuse to take your helmet off. Bit late turning the pump off then, isn't it?

Unless, of course, the kiosk attendant is Doctor Who and can fuck off back in time in his Tardis :dunno:

So they are allowed to discriminate?

The cashier is doing the job they are told to do. As alwats the orders come from.above and i have problem with dealing with above. But the cashiers dont make the rules so way takebit out on them?

Same as the reglion agruement the gov have put reglion above the law, it shoukd be the governments that take the flack not the cashiers.

But unfortunaly people always hit out at the messenger. Not the law makers.

good looking AND modest
They are able to refuse service if they see you've no intention of taking the lid off, they simply dont turn the pump on!!:dunno:
do as I've done since the last time this topic came up, wear a Balaclava under the lid, remove lid and go and pay!! slows the buggers up I can tell you!! they see a "biker" with lid on then get distracted, only to turn round and be approached by "someone" with a balaclava on!!:-0) the face's were a picture!!8rfl@
My girlfriend works as a pump jocky and she's been told by her managers she MUST insist that bikers remove their lids prior to the pumps being turned on, needless to say I don't take mine off and neither does any other bike rider that pulls into her station!!:-0)

Wilf's right on!!:-0)

You have to have the pumps on befire you take the fuel, thats why they press the button to start the pumps up, then you can fill up

Why would you have a helmet on if your bike is on a trailer? 8rfl@8rfl@

So they're mind readers then and know you won't take your lid off?

As happened to me I didn't vent my annoyance on the cashier I informed her that if I was aware of another petrol station in the close vicinity then I would have used that however I didn't know the area as I was just passing through. I politely asked her for the owners telephone number which she gladly gave me. There is a way of politely telling the cashier that you don't agree with their policy & they should relay that information to the owner/manager

No they have only put Moslems above the law

The messenger can return the message to the law makers.

Brilliant thread.

All proves that the average motorbikist is a completely ignorant twat.

However, I do find myself agreeing with Wolfie in this thread. But he is a proven twat of epic proportions so not really an exception.

So are you telling me that the cameras can see into the future and can detect naughty bastard motorised bicyclists that won't remove their helmets now?

What the fuck are you sniffing?

My own experiences are:

a) Local Tesco's, filled up with flip on, went to pay for it and the entrance was locked just before I went to enter the shop to pay and the night pay window was opened - was made to feel like a criminal. The crock of shit I got back from Tesco when I complained wasn't worth wiping my bottom on.

b) Same Tesco (on my way to work) went in to pay and told to remove my helmet when there others there wearing protective headgear covering roughly the same area as my flip. I asked why the others didn't have to remove theirs - no reply.

c) Local Morrisons (also on way to work), filled up, went to pay and was refused unless I removed my helmet. I asked if they wanted my money because I was going to leave otherwise. They accepted my money and I haven't been back. Similar crock I got back when I complained.

Local BP gets most of my business (say 30,000mls annually mixed between car and bike) as there is never any hassle.

Are we bikers really that much more of a risk than others - my view is not that much more (if any) as the Met Police don't record bike forecourt crime separately which rightly or wrongly indicates to me that it isn't a significant problem but possibly a perceived one?

You pull up at the pumps & an announcement comes over the tannoy "Oy you! yeah you biker wanker, take yer fooking helmet off or you'll not get any petrol" so you dutifully remove your helmet & place it in a safe place covering the nice slippery diesel on the floor & begin filling your tank.

You look up on hearing the sound of another bike entering the forecourt & you see it is someone dressed as a copper on a fully dressed pan complete with lights bells & whistles, the rider dismounts & puts the nozzle in the tank, do you hear the tannoy announcement? like fuck you do.

How hard is it really to remove lid? stick it on the bike seat? carry it in with you as you pay?
When I took my test it was the old two parter, the instructor for part one bollocked all who hung their lid on handle bars, mirrors and indicators. He used to say " if it falls off its fucked and should go in the bin. Get it into your head not to do it."
I did it the next week and got a kick in the shin:wank:
Dont do it now though so it worked.@tu* There is nowhere clean enough on the forecourt to put it so what do you do???
