What a shit argument
"its rude to keep your helmet on"
The title of the thread was a clue, its not the policy its how you enforce it.
I'm buying petrol, I'm usually polite and say please and thank you, its rare to have anyone driving a till use those two words during a transaction.
If there is a sign on the pump or nearby, its my choice, remove the lid or go somewhere else.
There are many ways of asking someone to do something, telling them and then threatening them? yeah that works. Its not the policy (stupid though that is) its the interaction and how this is dealt with.

Yes its a full face helmet with clear open visor, as is a flip up so no helmet rule applies, or does it only apply to certain types of helmet now!

If you are happy to be dictated to and regulated by idiots carry on accepting shit service.

And if anyones Mother happens to meet me in a retail establishment, I'm sure they will treat me with the same respect that I offer them.

Dont think I have small man syndrome, I'm 6'4

Helmet left on?

In a bank.....no.
In a shop....no
In a petrol station in broad daylight with loads of peeps about and my wallet in my hand......yes.

I and others boycotted a local petrol station until they recinded their instruction to remove helmet before filling up. Took about three months.

It's all about time and convenience to me. If I'm in no hurry and the petrol station is not busy I will prolly take off my helmet. If I'm in a hurry or a lot of peeps are queueing to get to the pumps then it is a feckin sight quicker to keep the helmet on. I don't see why it should be considered rude to keep the helmet on. If I am asked to take it off I go elsewhere to fill up. A cashier at our local Morrisons came the company policy bit once but the biker went into the store where the duty manager confirmed there was no such company policy and the cashier would be advised of this immediately.

pay at pump requires removal of the lid as well in some garages here. That's just plain weird!

I try to avoid pay at pump because

the cloners use them to get your card details, How can they do that when there's cameras everywhere?

you dont interact with anybody thus bringing society down even more. I think facebook etc has a lot more to answer for than automated pumps!

they cost jobs yet the petrol still cost the same amount. Asda filling station in Cardiff, fully automated and about 3 to 4p per litre cheaper. 400 mile round trip though so it's not cost effective. :-0)

same reasons i dont use the self serve tills inside the supermarkets. i do if I've only got three or four things

You've never struck me as a people person before now, considering your posts are always so "inciteful" :-0)

"its rude to keep your helmet on" agreed
The title of the thread was a clue, its not the policy its how you enforce it. by informing you that she cant serve you if you come in wearing a helmet next time
I'm buying petrol, I'm usually polite and say please and thank you, its rare to have anyone driving a till use those two words during a transaction. does that make it ok then? I nearly always get a good morning please and thank you, maybe because i say good morning first and set the tone
If there is a sign on the pump or nearby, its my choice, remove the lid or go somewhere else. yes correct, she was prewarning you
There are many ways of asking someone to do something, telling them and then threatening them? after you had asked why 3 times, she informed you that she can call the police should you carry on being awkward yeah that works. it does yes you left Its not the policy (stupid though that is) its the interaction and how this is dealt with. so by being prewarned that you will have to remove your helmet because it is/will be company policy you took offence??

Yes its a full face helmet with clear open visor, as is a flip up no a flip up is a flip up it is not a full face so no helmet rule applies, or does it only apply to certain types of helmet now! the cameras must be able to see your face, that is all that is required so yes an open face or a flip up with do.

If you are happy to be dictated to and regulated by idiots carry on accepting shit service. It doesnt bother me, i have a flip up lid, i am poliete to the staff, i smile, we talk as they run my card through the till take my cash etc. we interact

And if anyones Mother happens to meet me in a retail establishment, I'm sure they will treat me with the same respect that I offer them. respect?? by questioning the Lady twice after the answer was given and then telling her to fuck off? that aint respect to me. respect is not swearing at ladies for starters

Dont think I have small man syndrome, I'm 6'4 i do and i am 6ft,

So a 6ft, 4 helmet wearing bloke goes into the petrol station towering a good 2ft over the woman at the till and it aint intimidating then pow-low? Why do you think the seats and counters in garages have been raised up?

Just my opinions like, which of course are like arseholes, everybody has one.

always been a people person that is what hippies are. i just dont like them very much because of the rudeness, deceitfulness and damn right nastiness that a lot of them seem to show towards other human beings and animals, everybody and every thing is the same in my book, all treated with respect. it is then down to whoever to waste that respect or throw it away.

I was actually being sarcastic there, hence putting inciteful in inverted commas.

Personally, I don't find your posts inciteful. Nor our Andrew's for that matter.

I'm with John on this, in the winter when it's wet and cold, no way am I going to piss about getting comfortable again. I asked them in Tesco a few years ago, would they ask a Muslim woman to remove her head gear? I was told I was being stupid. Law/rule for us and none for them.

How is saying that I don't find your posts inciteful running backwards?

If plod pulls you over, he will immediately ask you to take your helmet off, in ALL weathers. Would anyone ask him if he'd ask a Muslim to take off his/her headwear? Because up till that point he may just be about to give you a warning. Personally, I think you'd all be "yes officer, no officer, three bags full officer". Who cares if someone asks you to take off your bloody helmet, be the bigger person, accept it may be company policy, and oblige. No big deal.

Ok, so if I'm asked to take my helmet off I shall retort with "take your blouse off and show me your tits. That's my policy".

Seems fair enough to me anyway.

these minimum wage fucknuts, are they also the ones that are paying out of their minimum wage for the stickers and notices informing you of this policy?
