it looks like i will be able to go but i am a bit concerned as when i looked on the camp site link it said no under sixteens, and i take my daughter with me
and she is under sixteen,i dont really understand the rule as if you look at the pub guide it says they welcome children? it may be they dont want groups of under sixteen year olds on the site and as she is supervised all the time it may be ok?

Wuz - really do recommend that you come to hte pub and walk across to the place you are staying - its not so much the drive to turn into, but pulling out you are on a corner and there is no visibility to your right!!! (pulling out of the pub, you can see both ways!!!)

I'm just about to sort out hte place for the lunch stop, so will post that up in case anyone wants to meet us there instead of doing the whole rideout (its fairly short though :-0) )

Well, I'll be at the pub from about middayish! Prob plan to eat in the evening about 8ish ?? :}

Rideout - meet at the pub for 10am saturday? (its only one rideout hunny - I ain't brave enough to do two, let alone good enough at roads to find two routes!!!!!!! )

I'll fix the route properly on Sunday/monday and let you know :}

Oh yes, my kit is dripping in the garage as I type ........ strap a canoe onto the bike, Cheddar Gorge would be great fun in this rain! From the Clouds it looks as if it is coming from your direction Smix.

think its going to rain on and off for a while here! if it carries on, i'll be doing the recce in the car tomorrow - really good, I already haven't ridden for four weeks, really ought to go practice before the weekend!!!!!!!

Hopefully it will be dry for the end of the week and the weekend, as both Burrington Coombe and Cheddar Gorge suffer from 'rubbish' on the roads after big rains.

cross fingers for dry tomorrow and I'll post up the route!

yes I've seen a couple of cyclists falling off going down the Gorge ........ and yes I may have been one of them in my past life h1d1ng2

Look out for gravel/rocks on the road for couple of miles before you hit the top of the gorge, a month ago I think the boy racers had been trying some 'ditch hooking'.
