FOOD
Breakfast
I think, since there's not that many of us, me and Melz are going to cook brekkie (if I can borrow a cooking thingy!! - got pans, need heat!! Artemis?? :k !!! )

Evening Meal - Friday
Since there is quite a staggered arrival, it will probably be easier to order our own food when we want it. The pub did promise to reserve some seating for us in the pub (I'll confirm tomorrow) so thats probably easiest.

Evening Meal - Saturday
Same as Friday??

The pub also does sunday lunch if anyone wants it!

RIDEOUT
Ok
This is going to be pretty casual. I know the roads reasonably well, but please don't take my lines as the best - I've not ridden that much this year, so please ride your own ride!!

Leaving the pub about 10.30. Follow A371 back towards Wells, then back roads round the 'city' and the scenic route to Burrington Combe then on to Cheddar - half hour stop for cuppa/smoke/ooo's over cliffs!!!! Then up Cheddar Gorge - across the Mendips ending up on the A361 towards Frome, turn off for Lunch at the White Hart Inn, Trudoxhill ( http://www.whiteharttrudoxhill.co.uk/ ). Lunch stop hour and a half to two hours? I've warned them that we will be there about 1.30ish - big ish!! They stop serving food at 2.30pm and are open all day, so we can take as long over lunch as we like!

The after noon 'return' journey - there are a few options, but if its ok, can we see how the day goes? there are two or three 'rides' back to the Rodney Stoke we could choose.

Pete - I don't have your number anymore - could you mail or text me so I can explain the route to lunch I have in mind? I can't get google to play nicely!!

Ok - Camping here is ?13 per night, there is an option for vans and electrical hook up. Toilets/showers are just that - BIG cubicles with basin toilet and shower in each. Downside is they are about 300-400 yrds from the Tent pitching area, but hopefully that isn't too far!!

http://www.rodneystokeinn.co.uk/index.html

They will do a Curry/Chilli and non spicy meal on the friday night. They also have a function room they would let us have, but I think it would end up being a bit expensive. Sooo - they've said we can have part of the 'snug' bar for the food. Or - we can all just order off the menu at will (last orders for food is 9.30pm - although I will have to check that!)

They can provide breakfast - I'll get a price for it nearer the time when I have an idea of numbers!

The pub is big inside, so should be plenty of room for us all to get together, and if the weather is good, there is a beer garden too!!!!!

From the pub, a ride out could easily take in both Cheddar Gorge and Burrington Coombe, although I will probably go for one or the other!!!!!!!! :} There are a few roads I like across the top of the Mendips too. It won't be a huge long rideout, but stop for lunch somewhere and tootle back!! I'll make more plans when we know dates and people coming!

Let me know who's interested and then I'll start sorting the rideout and lunch stop etc!!! :} :} :} (Ice cream break at Cheddar Gorge anyone?! )

As has been said by quite a few folks - the more meets the merrier!!!!

You do realise that you are away at a rally the weekend before that, don't you?

It's a possible for us too.

yes I do (or I'd have picked that weekend!!!!!!!!!) - but the Rally isn't exactly miles away, and the ZummerZet thing is next door (nearly!!!!!!!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :} :}

Rolfy - it was, but figured I would endeavour not to pick the same month as the EOSB (I know its close to, but then there are only 'so many' free weekends in any month!!)

Tank - we'll miss you - have you shared your BBird with Trax yet?!!!

Morphgarth - pleeeeeeeese - I'm hoping you might be able to help with the (little) rideout :-0)

DnD - get your pen out!!!!!!!

Solo - c'mon - its only 'down the road'!!!!!!!!!

Melz -

Chuff BrittleBird MTK - :-0) will be good to see you!!! :k

Really looking forward to this!!! Will be a fun Bashette I reckon!!!! :neenaw:

I should be around although not camping, close enough to be in my back garden!

Look out for cyclists on the blind corners in Cheddar Gorge they tend to go up the hill rather slowly!
