What I am saying is China have been making noises about ‘annexing’ Taiwan in the same way they did Hong Kong.

Maybe I am making two and two equal forty seven.

Nope, your maths may well add up!!

Russia makes loud noises and threats on the border - perhaps believing they have a degree of control over Europe with energy supplies.

China makes loud noises and threats towards Taiwan (having already effectively ended the one nation/two systems in Hong Kong) - perhaps believing they have a degree of control over the west's possible response due to supply chain dependency.

So, how/can will the West respond if both act areond the same time.

Apply sanctions to Russia and watch the lights go out across Europe.
Apply sanctions to China and watch the supply of everything else dry up.

Economic theory suggests other sources will appear to produce microchips to meet the shortage. That won’t happen overnight though.

I gather Intel are working up to it in the Irish plant.

4,500 employed in Ireland so I hope that they won't pull out of the country.

Not just microchips is it, look at what happened when covid affected the supply chain on everything else from China.

They didn't annex Hong Kong. We handed it back after the lease ran out.

For another conspiracy theory how about the Insulate Britain protests.

It's all gone quiet suddenly.

Hmmmm

As an act of Parliament to restrict protests gets drafted and publicised we get a group causing great disruption because they want houses insulated!!!

The head honcho of the group is an ex Satchi & Satchi employee.

The act of Parliament goes through the HOC, anyone seen or heard anything more of the insulation fanatics?

Too cold for them to freeze their liberal, middle class arses off on wet roads. Plus the superglue doesn't work so well.

Back in the spring, no doubt.

My house is so well insulated I can’t hear anything from outside, so the answer is ‘no, not heard anything’.

I did wonder about that coincidence :hmmm:

Not saying its any sort of conspiracy but it wouldn't be the first time a government encouraged people to cause bother in order to push through a new law, Old Maggie the hag was a past master at it and i doubt thinking has changed much in the intervening years

The good thing about a conspiracy theory is its so easy.....

I reckon the bees have seen this coming for years, that's why they've been disappearing.

But who warned them?

I reckon it was the moles snitched, now they've gone underground.

They won't get away with it though, the worms have had their brains reprogrammed by microwave radiation from 5G mobile phone masts. It's turned them into mutant mole eating zombies.

Just wait, the true manipulater will turn out out to be The Donald, head of the Buildaburger group of world single brain cell organisms.

Anyway, I bet you can't tell I've just woken up after less than three hours sleep following a night shift, luckily I kept wearing my three cornered tin foil hat me hearties.

:)

Interesting aviation events this week!

I've just finished a run of shifts.

In the last seven days or so there have been quite a number of cyber attacks on aviation related companies in the UK.

In most cases after a few days the problems have been worked around.
They have caused disruption but public statements have not mentioned the cyber attacks.

However, at least one major UK aviation company expects that one of their two computer systems affected will never be recovered. They are hoping they may regain the other in a few days.

Apparently the USAF have been steadily moving assets into the UK with B52s arriving into RAF Fairford.

With other news items things in Ukraine seem to be approaching a crunch.

You know, I have been following all this and it does strike me that a lot of the crap coming from the U.S., UK and other places is really pushing Putin's buttons and almost egging him on

I was quite surprised that the B52s were using call signs of Hate11, Hate12 etc.

I don't think I've ever seen that sort of call sign beforehand.

The B52's are more for show... Look at us, we're serious, etc. The real air assets have been here and elsewhere around various NATO bases for a while now.
