MAKE ALLOWANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how exactly do i make an allowance for someone else...?

TWICE AS QUICK!!!!!!!!!!!! exageration :f

ADVANCED TRAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i do it constantly so :f again..

DEATHWISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 bikes on a 40 mile trip and 20 miles on some of Derbyshires finest, twisty roads, dry appart from where the water had run from the fields in places.. I value my life too much to be on a DEATHWISH but then i do not intend to ride my BB at 35mph on a de-restricted 'A' road whilst sat behind a coffin dodger driving a VW polo..
If i were on a DEATHWISH mission i'd have invited you along :bandit:

1First you make your move, then allow the rest to catch up i.e. adjust your pace to be fair to the following riders.

2If the twat in front is so inconsiderate that the man at the back has to fly ot stay in touch with the rest not very nice if the leader is the only one that knows the route.

3Then 2 things come to mind, 1: You don't listen. 2: You need even more training!

4I have no deathwish I assure you! when have you seen me ride?

If the following are that bad as you seem to suggest why ride with them?

I didn't FLY OFF as you put it,, i over took a few cars and kept pretty much within the 60mph limit for the road,, it wasn't a GP race more of an enjoyable meander through the countryside...

I wasn't the only one who knew the route there as it was the 'A6' and even a numb nuts like you could follow a big green sign with 'A6' written on it!
I haven't seen you ride as your a pub racer.......talks the talk but probably got a HONDA MELODY 50cc mop head. :f

Clearly you need more training in all departments, you fail to offer any constructive arguments or comments.

I suggest you get a life coach a.s.a.p. and find a new basic trainer for your riding, preferably someone with whom you can communicate down at your level.

Then and only then will you appreciate more of the finer points of advanced riding and other motorcycles.

TRAINING

What training do you suggest i get that you feel may be beneficial to me.......training that you yourself can recomend from experience.....?

Do you know a good life coach i could call NOW ?

I like many bikes but i chose the best all rounder on my mere working class budget, having spent 34 yrs around bikes, all my family dealing with bikes in this country and abroad i think i'm able to judge for myself whats crap and whats not.
I really enjoy the 'BANTER' but your now starting to get my furr up.
Why don't you meet us at the DERBY or MATLOCK on one of your invisible steeds sometime or come on a rideout..........you can arrive in a taxi with ya lips pursed together making motorbike noises BRRRM BRRRRM BRRRMMMMMM.

OK OK OK OK

FIRST, let me repost my ORIGONAL statement

last night the bike was sliding all over the place. Especially crossing the white line. Real colon exercise riding. I did not feel confident at all last night in the bends.

I was just wondering if this differant type of fitmant had anything to do with it, or is it just my crap riding.

I wasn't complaining about being geting left behind. I ride at a pace I am comfortable at, not yours or anyone elses. If I don't think I can make a safe overtake then I wont. Your pace just happens to be quicker that mine, especially in the wet/damp or what ever. Everytime I overtook the car in front (and a lot of cars seemed to get in the way) I felt the bars twitch as the bike crossed the white line/dotted line whatever you want to call it. In your post you say NEVER EVER cross the solid white line. I wasn't refering to this when I say cross the whiter line. This wasn't a whinge, I was asking if the differant tyre combination I have may have been the cause. I didn't purchase differant tyres, they were on the bike when I bought it. And unlike some of us here I'm not loaded, so cant aford right now to bin them and buy new ones.

Second

I take Clives point in the tread depth but they will have to do a bit more miles yet. Biking is hobby for me, a dry one at that. Yes I do drive a car most of the time. There are nice sunny days when I can't even ride my bike due the problems I have with my knees. :violin: This thread is starting to get personal. I just asked simply.........is it possibly the tyres OR as it says at the end....................... is it just my crap riding.

Rhino you won't know this but twice wee've been to Matlock and yes I do (when I can without fucking it up) follow your line, and yes I do get round the corners quicker. So I do watch and learn. But that has nothing to do with not feeling confident on wet/damp roads, especially when the front end it so twitchy. There is absolutly no problem in the dry.

Third

Maybe it is my crap riding. Like I said.........It's a hobby with me. I have nothing to prove. I have just come back from a 60 mile ride on the XV pig I just resurected. What a laff. Think I might buy a harley and sell the bird.

FUK says bin em and buy Avons. You hate them in the wet (now theres another thread). mmmmmmnnnnnnn. Think I will check the alignment though as FUK suggested, then when this front wears a little more I will have the spare 020 fitted that MickyB999 donated and see what the differance is. If its still the same then it's my fault. :bang:

Change the tyres first then get the alignment checked properly as you may indeed have a problem with it.

I'm sorry if you felt offended at what i had said but i'm no way a fast rider,,not by a long stretch just progressive..........
Come with us again next time if your free or as i said before to sort out an evening for a play and see what happens.

I feel you may be too courtious towards other road users,, relax on the bars and let i wiggle its tits off on the white lines,, you'd be amazed at the difference it makes.. A comment CLIVE made unknowingly when we first met was about relaxing the grip as i used to suffer from hand cramp. Since listening to Clive my mitts are better and so is my riding. THANKS CLIVE

Rhino , I'm not offended, not the least. I respect everyones right to an opinion.

Maybe your not a fast rider...............but you ride a lot faster than me 8l1nd

The lack of confidence is not in me, but in the bike in the wet/damp. The bike just doesn't feel right in the wet or on damp roads at the pace you ride at. Probably the reason why I tend to back off. Not complaining, just trying to solve it mate one way or another.

No fear I will be on the next one. Hey I even broke the rules this time. I even set off in the pouring rain $%3un speed was down to 20 MPH on the M62 the rain was that heavy.

Madhouse, you ride at your own pace and don't feel pressured by anyone else to speed up.

Riding mates will always accomodate someone who is slower, untill they come up to the pace.

Or find some who ride at your pace and I am sure there are plenty who do.

He wants to ride better not talk bollocks better.

If your suspension is not set up for you the bike will feel awful in the wet, as will gripping too tight, as will tight head bearings, all these are disguised in the dry or when you are feeling confident.

The best advise would be not to listen to B1rdie  and seek advice from the many online suppliers here on the forum and get proper advice.

Since when Limp Dick have online suppliers given MIND training F.O.C.

Entertaining I suppose!

Well having read that thread I am entertained by it all. Banter is pretty good when it's banter but this is the first one I have seen with real needle and pretty unnecessary at that. I doubt the original question really got answered. I don't intend to add to it all about fast/slow/progress/suicidal etc. I am an advanced rider of to many bloody years, and trained by police class 1 riders who are the best in the world in my opinion and know what both Rhino & B1rdie were trying to say.
The point I want to make is about Ride outs, leader and last man. If you adopt the 2nd man drop off system, the relative speed of the people in between leader (always the same bloke who knows the way) and last man (stays the same so everyone knows he is last) doesn't matter at all, except the leader musn't lose the 2nd man. I have been on 250 mile rideouts on this system and no matter how strung out you get no one gets lost and no one is under pressure to ride faster than they want to. When it is your turn as 2nd man to drop off (stop) at a junction, turning, roundabout etc to wait for the LAST man and wave everyone elso through, it's a good chance to rest your bum/wrists for a minute or so.

It is dangerous for anyone to think they are under pressure to go faster than they feel comfortable and what one man thinks of (rightly) as 'progress' can be nerve wracking for another with less confidence/experience/training. I am a quick, progressive rider, not FAST (as Rhino says he is too) but I can recall times when I have been behind someone and no way can I keep up, not because theyare donkey brained speedsters but they are simply better than me. 2nd man drop out cuts this problem to a minimum.

I agree.

I do not know how many were riding and would also assume that not all knew where to go as they were from outside the area.

I have also been party to 250 mile rideouts with 60 mailnly sports bikes with very little probs using the same system as you have described, I also know that smaller rides dont tend to have a system and therefore the onus is more on the leader. and very hard work for the rearman.

If you care to READ post 24 & 27 it states clearly that there were '3' bikes and we ALL knew where we were going as it was the 'A6'.............twisty but continuous..
There was no need for the 2nd man drop off system, none at all!
I'm buggered if i'm gonna sit behind a line of traffic on MY one night out in the month just so i don't lose sight of 2nd place man who KNOWS where the bloody venue is!
It wasn't an ORGANISED rideout as opposed to a "Oh i'll meet up and we'll ride together".
I have ridden in enough groups in my time to know how they work but nobody was gonna get lost and i did infact wait on a few occasions and that CAN be verified by the original poster of the thread so :f
There is no guilt on my part as i was only out of sight for a few hundred yards at the most............

Can't see the problem

Agree with you this time Rhino (I was talking about big ride-outs) if there were only 3 riders and they knew where the venue was then no presuure on anyone to keep up. Anyway it's been entertaining reading as I said.... :}

Hope you make it to MATLOCK for our next venue...

I think this got blown out of all proportion as Madhouse28 was commenting on his twitchy bike and i thought he may have been nervous of it.......
It does seem though that he has an unstable bike wether or not it is the nut that holds the seat to the bars or if its a trye/suspension problem.

I'm taking mine to DEMON TWEEKS next week and getting them to set up the rear end for me
